  • A current valid driver's license is required.
  • CPI NCI Certification, AVADE Workplace Violence Prevention Levels I, II, and III Certification, BLS Provider Certification including CPR and AED, AHA Heart-Saver First Aid Certification, Stop the Bleed and Nasal Naloxone Certification, and successful completion of Safe Environment for Suicidal/Homicidal Patients and Restraints/Seclusion Safety training are required within six months of hire.

  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations and adapt to rapidly changing situations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across diverse cultures and at various social and educational levels.

Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle and inspect conditions related to security and safety.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and equipment checks for phones, alarms, doors, locks, vehicles, and radio equipment.
  • Prepare post logs and reports, including entering information into a computer.
  • Direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic and issue parking citations when appropriate.
  • Check colleague identification and enforce ID-badge requirements; issue temporary badges to visitors and vendors.
  • Respond to codes, alarms, violence and aggression, elevator entrapments, thefts, disturbances, incidents, and medical emergencies.
  • Coordinate with local police, fire, and emergency personnel as directed.
  • Perform patient watch and observation and respond to domestic abuse, substance abuse, forensic, psychiatric, and distressed-visitor situations.
  • Use de-escalation techniques and restrain patients when necessary while practicing universal precautions.
  • Identify and report fire-safety hazards and keep exits, doors, corridors, and extinguishing equipment clear.
  • Assist patients, visitors, and colleagues with vehicle problems and transport patients and colleagues between buildings and parking lots.
  • Deliver payroll, deposits, cash trays, pharmacy items, specimens, charts, x-rays, and equipment to designated locations and off-site facilities.
  • Notify Maintenance of changing weather conditions affecting snow removal and sanding.
  • Coordinate with funeral-home staff for removal of deceased patients, verify legal documents, record pathology statistics, and process paperwork.
  • Participate in quality-improvement activities and complete mandatory education.
  • Comply with organizational policies, behavioral expectations, and departmental requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to two years of healthcare security experience.
  • Military, law-enforcement, or customer-service work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree-level education or current enrollment in a criminal justice program.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
