Requirements
  • Current New Hampshire Registered Nursing licensure is required.
  • A nursing degree is required.
  • Current Basic Life Support/CPR training is required.
  • Prior work experience in a healthcare setting is required.
  • Experience inserting, maintaining, and removing peripheral intravenous lines is required or expected.
  • Experience with Epic is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assist providers as necessary, room patients, take vital signs, triage patients, call in prescriptions, and perform associated ambulatory nursing responsibilities.
  • Insert, maintain, and remove peripheral intravenous lines.
  • Prepare and safely infuse complex treatments, including biologic medications.
  • Evaluate patients, review pertinent laboratory findings, and verify physician medication orders before starting treatments.
  • Assess vital signs and monitor patient responses during infusions to detect and immediately mitigate adverse reactions or complications.
  • Teach patients and caregivers how to administer injectable biologic medications at home.
  • Maintain comprehensive electronic health records, including medication dosages, flow rates, and patient outcomes.
  • Carry out the nursing process in person, by telephone through telephone triage, and through telehealth modalities.
  • Assess and identify patient needs, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate progress toward goals of care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and other health professionals to design and implement plans of care.
  • Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and vaccines; perform point-of-care testing; and collect and handle specimens within the scope of practice defined by the applicable Nurse Practice Act.
  • Educate patients on self-management activities, medications, nutrition, health, and wellness based on the collaboratively designed plan of care.
