Requirements
- A Technicien/BTS diploma in industrial maintenance, electrotechnics, refrigeration and air conditioning, or equivalent.
- Two to five years of experience maintaining restaurant or institutional equipment and/or commercial refrigeration, ideally in a hotel environment.
- Solid knowledge of maintenance and diagnostics, including electrical work, basic mechanics, and regulation.
- Knowledge or mastery of commercial refrigeration, including temperature regulation, sensors, evaporators and condensers, defrosting, alarms, and performance concepts.
- Ability to work on kitchen or institutional equipment, including production and professional washing or dishwashing equipment where applicable.
- Proficiency with control instruments, including a multimeter within the scope of authorization, thermometers and probes, and alarm and regulation systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and simple plans.
Responsibilities
- Perform operational checks on kitchen equipment and associated areas, including professional washing and dishwashing, production equipment, and ventilation or extraction where applicable.
- Monitor cold rooms and refrigerated cabinets daily or as scheduled, including temperatures, alarms, defrosting where relevant, and the general condition of units.
- Check and adjust refrigeration systems according to procedures, including regulation, thermostats and probes, controls, valves where applicable, air circulation, and evaporator and condenser condition.
- Diagnose failures, including symptoms, alarms, regulation faults, and loss of cooling, and propose or implement corrective actions within the authorized scope.
- Perform preventive maintenance, including technical cleaning as appropriate, checks, inspections, safety verifications, and intervention planning.
- Perform corrective maintenance, including replacement of wear parts where authorized, return to service, and validation tests.
- Participate in work with refrigeration, electrical, gas, and automation contractors and provide a clear technical report.
- Maintain the cold chain by securing equipment when temperatures deviate, raising immediate alerts, and organizing continuity where applicable under internal procedures.
- Apply food hygiene rules and internal procedures concerning work zones, cleaning, and production-plan constraints.
- Follow electrical and mechanical safety requirements and workplace safety procedures, including lockout where necessary, personal protective equipment, and signage.
- Maintain intervention records, including work orders, reports, temperature and inspection readings, and tracking of parts and consumables.
- Keep preventive actions and reporting up to date.
- Participate in internal audits and quality checks and help prepare for inspections.
