About the job

Requirements
  • At least 6 years of growth, digital, or B2B2C/B2C marketing experience, with a proven record of driving high-volume participation in a government-sponsored benefits program or similarly complex, trust-sensitive service.
  • Ability to build distribution through trusted partner ecosystems while using paid media and influencer channels to test, optimize, and scale participation.
  • Ability to track conversion pathways from first touch through completed enrollment and translate performance data into actionable campaign changes.
  • Hands-on experience briefing, negotiating, and running performance-driven creator campaigns.
  • Comfort navigating multi-stakeholder approval processes and working alongside partner or client teams.
Responsibilities
  • Build a go-to-market plan for each city or state launch, including audience segments, channel mix, budget, timeline, and enrollment targets.
  • Concept, launch, and optimize high-converting multichannel campaigns across diverse populations, using social media, search, creator partnerships, and nontraditional digital channels.
  • Develop human-first messaging for distinct resident groups for targeted channels.
  • Design co-branded campaigns with government partners and manage the review and approval process.
  • Plan launch moments with the communications team, including announcement events, press outreach, and content from elected officials.
  • Source and manage local creators and influencers, and cultivate user and partner spokespeople for marketing purposes.
  • Set up tracking and reporting that ties spend to enrollments by channel, message, and geography, and share results with company leadership and government partners.
  • Submit every public claim to compliance review to ensure it does not read as financial advice or overstate results.
Desired Qualifications
  • Fintech, consumer finance, or student loan experience, particularly navigating advertising guidelines in regulated consumer spaces.
  • Prior agency or startup experience launching new programs or products into new regional markets.
  • Existing relationships with community organizations, higher education institutions, or public sector communications teams.
  • A track record of resourceful campaign concepts, testing nontraditional formats, and finding innovative ways to engage audiences.
  • Experience with adjacent services such as health plan-facilitated benefits, financial assistance, or nonprofit services.
  • Ability to make complex subjects such as finance or student loans simple, accessible, and engaging for everyday consumers.

About the company

Summer provides education and student loan assistance solutions to hourly and gig workers, as well as to employees through employer partnerships in the financial wellness space. Its platform enables employers to offer turnkey tuition reimbursement programs and smart tools for contributing to student loans, integrated with an admin dashboard that lets employers measure program effectiveness. The product works by guiding users through income-driven repayment plans and Public Service Loan Forgiveness, with tailored support for debt reduction and education benefits. A key differentiator is its employer-centric model and focus on gig/economy workers, delivering turnkey benefits and measurable impact via an admin interface, rather than generic consumer financial products. Summer’s goal is to reduce student loan debt and improve overall financial wellness for workers by embedding these tools into employer benefits packages and helping tens of thousands of members save money.
