Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in equity research in the Consumer and/or Media sectors.
  • A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field is required.
  • A proven track record of alpha generation or performance, ideally documented through portfolio attribution, with demonstrable investment acumen across the Consumer and Media sectors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to analyze, explain, and discuss sophisticated investment products and investment strategies with investment team members, current and future clients, consultants, and external research teams.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint, and comfort with technology.
  • Specialized computer knowledge.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct fundamental research, analyze, and generate actionable investment recommendations on large-cap Consumer and Media stocks, covering assigned sectors for Large Cap Core and Large Cap Value strategies.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and other analysts across sectors to assess company-specific and broader portfolio implications.
  • Interact with company management teams and sell-side analysts to assist in investment decision-making.
  • Review, analyze, and present daily news and opinions on large-cap stocks in assigned sectors.
  • Maintain current research and investment documentation of the business fundamentals of covered companies in assigned sectors.
  • Maintain familiarity and compliance with client and firm investment guidelines.
  • Maintain a broader perspective on investing and macroeconomic climates.
  • Participate in client and consultant due diligence meetings and prospect or finals presentations as needed.
  • Assist in making quarterly and other presentations on product performance to sales and marketing colleagues.
  • Assume other duties as requested or assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • An MBA, CFA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience generating alpha or performance documented through portfolio attribution.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to learn from others and confidence in conveying conviction about investment ideas.
  • A high degree of integrity, initiative, results orientation, and an entrepreneurial attitude.
  • Experience with Bloomberg and/or FactSet.
