POSITION LOCATION:
This position is located in North Olmsted, OH.
RESPONSIBLIITIES:
- Maintain the laboratory and all laboratory equipment.
- Assist with the design, selection, assembly, and installation of test equipment.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on electrical/electronic testing and testing systems for both new and legacy designs.
- Assemble and repair PCBAs using hand tools and reflow oven.
- Assemble electrical wire harnesses using hand tools.
- Test PCBs, motors, and other electrical subsystems or electronic components.
- Load embedded firmware on MPUs and MCUs.
- Assemble and/or fabricate electromechanical hardware using basic tools.
- Partner with engineers to develop or improve test plans, processes, and procedures.
- Test and troubleshoot electromechanical hardware and firmware.
- Complete tests and report results as per required timelines.
- Track prototype deviations, distribution, and status.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience in an Engineering Technician role.
- 2+ years of experience in a Test/Electrical Technician role.
- Proficiency collecting data to troubleshoot/define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for resolution via electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency partnering with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and contract manufacturers.
- Literacy in electrical PCB schematics and layouts, per IPC quality standards.
- Experience using basic hand tools, ECAD, (e.g., Altium Designer), and electrical engineering tools (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, signal generators, multimeters, reflow oven, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
- Advanced soldering skills, per IPC quality standards (e.g., 0402, 0603, TSSOP, SOIC packages, leadless, BGA, etc.).
- Proficiency with digital design, PLCs, and control systems.
- Proficiency in EMC testing.
- Proficiency in firmware and software.
- Basic plumbing experience a plus.
