Requirements
- A minimum of three to five years of experience working as an Electrical Foreman, General Foreman, or in a similar role in electrical construction, design, and cost management for commercial or industrial projects.
- Must hold a current Journeyman Wireman license if required by the applicable state, city, or county.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret electrical plans and specifications, with in-depth knowledge of National Fire Protection Association codes.
- Demonstrated track record of successful project leadership with experience managing sub-Foremen.
- Ability to manage private or public sector electrical construction projects, including new construction and tenant improvements.
- Solid understanding of electrical codes and installation methods.
- Knowledge of installing power systems, including lighting, fire protection, security, and data networks.
- Knowledge of the construction, installation, and maintenance of control panels.
- Ability to utilize electrical single-line blueprints.
- Experience verifying the compliance and functionality of installations.
- Knowledge of identifying and repairing faults in electrical apparatus and circuits.
- Ability to order and track materials, perform cost projections, and develop as-builts.
- Strong knowledge and experience related to scheduling, material lead times, product knowledge, and installation durations.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds from the ground and pull 50 pounds of force.
- Ability to perform ladder climbing, wire pulling, and conduit pulling.
- Ability to fully squat, stoop, or kneel while wearing a 25-pound tool belt.
- Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods while performing repetitive actions such as grasping or manipulating wires.
- Ability to work from ladders, manlifts, or reach booms.
- Ability to work in varied weather conditions and high-noise environments.
Responsibilities
- Supervise all field production activities and assist the Foreman in planning the job, ordering materials, and determining workforce needs.
- Work with Project Managers and Superintendents to establish project goals and monitor progress toward those objectives.
- Review and monitor labor efficiencies, hours, and ratios; project labor needs for the project duration; and maintain and update the project schedule weekly.
- Monitor codes, specifications, and installation methods.
- Prepare, review, distribute, and maintain required installation documentation.
- Provide leadership and guidance to sub-Foremen.
- Track and monitor material costs, storage, consumed materials, and ordered materials to identify potential problems and minimize costs and overruns.
- Manage and assign tasks to crew members, maintain the project labor tracking report, and communicate labor-tracking status to key project personnel.
- Anticipate and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Ensure appropriate safety equipment, materials, and tools are onsite for the required work.
- Maintain complete and accurate as-builts according to company procedures and project requirements.
- Communicate with project owners, architects, general contractors, management, and crew members.
- Adhere to project contract document changes and change-order notice-to-proceed policies.
- Adhere to company, state, and federal safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure all work meets National Electrical Code, federal, state, county, and local codes, and contract documents.
- Provide leadership in fostering a teamwork environment.
- Monitor employee and crew morale to support positive outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
