Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, although appropriate experience may substitute for education on an equivalent basis.
  • At least 2 years of experience is required.
  • Strong organizational skills and persistent follow-through are required for detailed, structured pre-award clinical research support.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant federal regulations, including the National Institutes of Health and the Office of Management and Budget, and the ability to interpret organizational policies and research-management guidelines are required.
  • The ability to maintain positive relationships with external sponsors and internal personnel while adhering to institutional requirements is required.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality, perform effectively in a stressful, deadline-driven environment, and plan and organize projects affecting others is required.
  • Strong customer service skills, teamwork, initiative, timely responses, and anticipation of stakeholder needs are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail are required.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort working with multiple web-based systems are required.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Medical College of Wisconsin point of contact and liaison for sponsoring organizations of clinical research regarding related contracts and agreements.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and process industry-supported clinical trial agreements, research agreements, extramurally funded contracts, project-specific work statements under master clinical trial or research agreements, non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements, and account-extension compliance validations.
  • Facilitate, submit, negotiate, and award clinical trials; develop and implement compliance measures; and draft and manage sub-recipient awards supporting clinical research.
  • Interpret and articulate institutional and sponsor policies and relevant procedures to ensure compliance, keep departments informed of policy and regulatory changes from relevant granting agencies, and work with departments and central administrative offices to achieve compliance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulatory and governing bodies affecting contract administration to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
  • Assist in identifying, developing, and implementing process improvements affecting the daily operations of the Grants and Contracts Office and the research enterprise.
  • Partner with other Grants and Contracts Office analysts and Medical College of Wisconsin stakeholders on assigned team-based projects.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Juris Doctor, Master's, or other advanced degree is preferred.
  • Experience in contract administration and contract negotiation is preferred.
