Requirements
  • CTS RN candidates must graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold active Registered Nurse licensure in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, another nursing compact state, and any other states required by state law.
  • CTS LPN candidates must graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold active LPN licensure in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, another nursing compact state, and any other states required by state law.
  • At least 2 years of recent clinical experience in a physician office, home health, critical care, and/or emergency room is required.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, compliance focus, continuous growth, quality orientation, service orientation, time-management ability, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
  • Answer telephones, prioritize clinical triage calls, follow clinical protocols, and coordinate services as needed.
  • Verify patient demographic information and accurately enter updated information into the electronic health record.
  • Serve as an escalation point for clinical patient issues and for other POD team members requiring clinical support, providing clinical advice based on protocols and procedures.
  • Manage and respond to escalated electronic patient messages when not answering inbound calls, using clinical judgment to prioritize and accommodate patients.
  • Create a positive patient experience at every encounter and attempt to independently resolve patient issues or concerns during the call within the role's scope.
  • Meet productivity, schedule-adherence, and quality standards set by the Access Center.
  • Use available resources and guidelines to assess, prioritize, advise, schedule appointments, or refer calls to the appropriate medical facility or personnel when necessary.
  • Accurately document symptoms or complaints, nursing assessments, advice provided, and patient or caller responses.
  • Partner with other Access Center teams or PODs and practice clinical teams to assist patients with clinical concerns, medication refills, or appointment scheduling.
