Requirements
  • Significant product management leadership experience, including experience owning products from concept to launch in enterprise software, artificial intelligence, data, or other highly technical environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams of product leaders, not only individual contributors.
  • A proven track record of full-stack product ownership, including discovery, prototyping, requirements, launch, customer iteration, and roadmap management.
  • Demonstrated ability to personally prototype products and workflows using modern artificial intelligence-native tools; the role requires moving from an idea to a working artifact quickly.
  • Strong technical fluency and product judgment in artificial intelligence-enabled systems, including large language model-powered applications, workflow tooling, data products, application programming interfaces, or adjacent platform technologies.
  • Highly flexible and effective in fast-changing environments where the product, customer, and approach may evolve rapidly.
  • Ability to align executives, engineers, researchers, and customers around decisions and tradeoffs through clear and collaborative communication.
  • Hands-on ability and willingness to build, test, and refine ideas rather than delegate all early product exploration.
  • Ability to synthesize customer input, technical possibilities, and market signals into clear product direction.
  • Active adoption of new tools, methods, and technologies to increase product velocity and quality.
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle across discovery, strategy, prototyping, specification, launch, and iteration.
  • Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to identify high-value workflow problems and translate them into product direction.
  • Personally build rapid prototypes, demos, and workflow experiments using modern artificial intelligence tools such as Lovable, Replit, and similar platforms to accelerate learning and decision-making.
  • Turn ambiguous customer needs and emerging technical capabilities into clear product strategy, priorities, and execution plans.
  • Lead and develop a team of product leaders and product managers; set a high bar for judgment, communication, and ownership.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Research, and Forward Deployed teams to transform customer-specific solutions into scalable platform capabilities.
  • Drive product prioritization with strong judgment around tradeoffs, sequencing, and business impact rather than process for process’s sake.
  • Establish tight feedback loops with customers, usage data, and internal teams so the roadmap evolves quickly as the market changes.
  • Ensure product decisions are grounded in a deep understanding of user workflows, technical constraints, and long-term strategic advantage.
  • Help shape the company’s product culture around speed, insight, clarity, and hands-on execution.
  • Develop metrics to manage and guide team execution, customer success, and product quality.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building AI products in financial services or other high-consequence domains.
  • Experience taking products from 0 to 1 and then evolving them into repeatable, scalable offerings.
  • Strong design and workflow intuition, especially for products that simplify complex expert work.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering and research organizations in technically demanding environments.
  • Experience leading product in an early-stage or high-growth startup.
  • An advanced degree in computer science, engineering, business, design, human-computer interaction, economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • A graduate degree is preferred.

Rational Dynamics builds customized AI reasoning systems for high-cognitive tasks for leading institutional asset owners. It collaborates with clients to create rigorous benchmark datasets, trains agentic large reasoning models that combine frontier AI with proprietary data, and delivers a tailored application service plus scalable platforms to deploy AI agents in client environments. The company differentiates itself through founders with a Voleon background, applying a data-driven discipline and a focus on benchmarking and validating knowledge-work tasks rather than generic AI outputs. Its goal is to make skilled, expensive employees significantly more productive by automating complex reasoning work with AI agents.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • The June 2026 engineering-leader post confirms active product buildout and customer-facing delivery.
  • LinkedIn updated July 16, 2026 shows a Berkeley headquarters and a live recruiting pipeline.
  • Focus on asset owners gives Rational Dynamics high-value contracts if benchmarked systems outperform analysts.

What critics are saying

  • July 2026 hiring posts show a small 11-50 person team, creating execution fragility.
  • Institutional finance pilots stall fast; one failed benchmark can kill a long sales cycle.
  • OpenAI, Anthropic, and Palantir can bundle similar reasoning tools, commoditizing Rational Dynamics by 2027.

What makes Rational Dynamics unique

  • Founders built Voleon, bringing proven applied-machine-learning discipline from live markets.
  • Rational Dynamics targets institutional asset owners, not generic enterprise copilots, with custom benchmarks.
  • It sells tailored reasoning systems integrated into clients' environments, not standalone model APIs.
