Junior Trader
About the job
- A bachelor's degree in business/finance, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.
- Zero to two years of work experience; financial experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and mathematics skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer proficiency, including Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic and a team-oriented focus on contributing to the trading desk's success.
- Ability and interest to work Asia/European overnight hours.
- Execute algorithmic trading strategies in accordance with the trading desk's objectives.
- Monitor and reconcile trading positions consistently throughout the shift.
- Perform start-of-day position and activity reconciliations.
- Perform post-trade analysis on a variety of algorithmic trading strategies.
- Complete end-of-day profit and loss and position reporting.
- Communicate with trading exchanges and internal technology groups regarding trading system issues.
- Manage and report potential compliance issues.
- Assist quantitative traders in researching new trading strategies.
- Experience with Python is preferred.
- Financial experience is preferred but not required.
