  • A current Registered Nurse license in good standing with the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • At least five years of experience as a registered nurse.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Current first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and emergency behavior intervention certifications.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screens throughout employment.
  • Provide proof of work eligibility status upon request.
  • Pass pre-employment and biennial criminal background checks.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally in English.
  • Work collaboratively with staff members, service providers, and professionals.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, make decisions based on program and service-population needs, and maintain emotional control and professional composure.
  • Maintain the computer literacy required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • Work effectively without intensive supervision, independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of Compass Connections policies and procedures.
  • Provide a current physical-medical release and proof of required immunizations, titers, or declinations for measles, mumps, and rubella; varicella; hepatitis B; hepatitis A; tetanus; and purified protein derivative testing.
  • Perform physical activity including extensive walking, stretching, and bending.
  • Maintain professional oral, written, listening, and non-verbal communication skills.
  • Receive an annual influenza vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption.
  • Be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Responsibilities
  • Meet and maintain all applicable federal and state regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Provide telehealth triage services to assess patient needs and evaluate symptoms, answer patient inquiries, provide patient teaching, and determine urgency and the appropriate course of action.
  • Conduct in-person and virtual assessments using established protocols and accurately document medical findings.
  • Gather, collect, and clarify patients’ current conditions and past medical histories.
  • Communicate concerning patient-health findings to the Medical Director as needed.
  • Communicate with RN Managers and other medical staff to devise individual plans of care and support other medical staff as a nurse.
  • Implement Compass Connections safety protocols, including evacuating with children and other staff during emergencies.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of healthcare records and information in accordance with HIPAA and Compass Connections confidentiality and personally identifiable information protocols and procedures.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize daily work using sound judgment.
  • Monitor established healthcare plans for the service population at assigned sites within the timeframe established by state and federal partners.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in accordance with agency policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, standards, and program timelines.
  • Meet program and federal-partner documentation and process requirements.
  • Perform other assigned duties and address unforeseen matters needed to maintain a functional program.
Desired Qualifications
  • Pediatric nursing experience.
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification.
  • Meningococcal immunization or an approved declination.
