Moon provides virtual Visa cards that let people spend cryptocurrency anywhere Visa is accepted. It converts crypto assets (Bitcoin on-chain or via Lightning, Ether, USDC, USDT) into a Visa balance, enabling purchases at millions of merchants; users choose 1X single-use cards or X reloadable cards for higher limits and subscriptions. The service is non-custodial, so Moon does not hold user funds and shields personal data from merchants. Its goal is to make cryptocurrency a practical daily payment method by bridging crypto to fiat with private, easy-to-use card solutions.

Simplify Jobs

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • The June 5, 2026 site still supports Bitcoin Lightning, a fast rail few card startups match.
  • Moon’s privacy pitch fits users avoiding merchant data exposure, especially for online shopping.
  • LinkedIn updated September 2, 2026 shows Kruger still active, signaling ongoing operator continuity.

What critics are saying

  • Moon depends on Visa and partner financial institutions; any issuer cutoff instantly kills card issuance.
  • June 2026 limits stay tight: $4,000 monthly spending and no Apple Pay or physical card.
  • Crypto card competitors and merchant-branded gift-card rails compress Moon’s fee advantage and user retention.

What makes Moon unique

  • Moon’s June 5, 2026 site sells non-custodial Visa cards funded by BTC, Lightning, USDC, USDT, and ETH.
  • Moon separates one-time 1X cards from reloadable X cards, matching privacy and subscription use cases.
  • Kenneth Kruger has led Moon since June 2018, giving the product a long, focused crypto-payments thesis.
