Kitting/Shipping Associate
About the job
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in kitting, shipping and receiving, warehousing, or an inventory environment; manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning or inventory systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or similar.
- Experience with shipping software such as UPS WorldShip or FedEx Ship Manager is a plus.
- Ability to read work orders, bills of materials, and part numbers accurately.
- Basic knowledge of export and customs documentation is a plus but is not required.
- Ability to lift up to 40–50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.
- Ability and willingness to work the evening shift schedule.
- Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Pull parts, accessories, and components from inventory according to work orders and kit lists.
- Assemble kits for production and customer orders, verifying part numbers, quantities, and revisions.
- Package finished mass flow and pressure instruments and accessories securely for domestic and international shipment.
- Prepare shipping documentation, including packing slips, labels, and customs or export paperwork for international orders.
- Process shipments via common carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and freight providers, and select appropriate service levels.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies or shortages.
- Inspect outgoing products for damage or missing components before shipment.
- Keep kitting and shipping work areas organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
- Collaborate with production, warehouse, and customer service teams to meet order deadlines.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, and label printers.
- Experience in a scientific or technical instrument or precision manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification.
