Pricing Analyst

The role

Price is one of the biggest reasons pet parents choose Pet Circle, and getting it right across the largest pet supplies range in Australia is a hard, high-impact commercial problem. As our Pricing Analyst, you'll help shape and deliver our pricing strategy, making sure customers get the best price in the market for the products they love while protecting the margin that keeps us growing.

You'll own the analysis behind our prices. That means deep diving into transactional and competitor data to surface commercial insights, working out which promotions and price moves actually drive growth, and turning that into clear recommendations for Category Managers and Marketing. You'll report to our Pricing Lead within the Merchandising team, with direct visibility of the decisions your work shapes.

This is also a chance to rethink how pricing gets done. Rather than adding more manual checks, we want you to use AI and automation to take repetitive work off the team's plate, so more time goes into the questions that move sales and growth.

What you’ll be working on

• Tracking competitor pricing across our biggest brands and categories each week, spotting the moves that matter and recommending how we respond.

• Monitor our price position against the market using our competitor pricing tools, and recommend changes that balance competitiveness with sustainable growth.

• Measuring the impact of promotions and price changes, separating what drove growth from what didn’t work, and feeding that into the promotional calendar with Category and Marketing.

• Rebuilding how we report on our price position, replacing manual checks with automated, AI-assisted workflows the team can rely on.

• Pricing new products and supporting range and assortment analysis as new brands join Pet Circle.

• Keeping the data and rules in our pricing tools accurate, so the price a pet parent sees on site is the right one, and working with the Data team to fix issues fast.

• Respond to pricing queries from Customer Experience and other business areas to support pricing accuracy and trust.

• Representing pricing on cross-functional mission projects, bringing pricing insight to the table and owning the actions that come out of them.

• Translating business requirements into clear, executable actions, and keeping our SOPs and documentation current so the team can work with confidence.

What we're looking for

• You've spent a couple of years in an analytical role, whether in pricing, commercial, finance, strategy, data or consulting. Pricing experience is a bonus, not a requirement.

• You've worked with large datasets and turned them into recommendations that someone acted on. You're strong in Excel or Google Sheets, and SQL or Python is a real plus.

• You already use AI in your work and can show us something you built or changed with it, such as an automated report, a reworked workflow, or an analysis you couldn't have done as quickly without it.

• You take ownership and go looking for the next problem. You've gone beyond your brief, taught yourself a new tool, or improved a process nobody asked you to.

• You explain numbers clearly to busy stakeholders and hold your view when the data supports it.

• You're attentive to detail, because in this role a wrong number becomes a wrong price in front of a customer.

Where you'll work

This is a Sydney-based role. Our office sits on top of Wynyard station, it's pet-friendly (of course). Our teams collaborate best and are most effective when together in the office but we work flexibly based on team needs. We believe spending time together in person is important for building strong relationships, collaborating effectively, moving quickly as a team, and having fun!
