Opportunity of Impact
We seek a top-tier VP of Engineering to lead the engineering team through our next phase of growth. The ideal engineering leader is one who is technical and accomplished in high-growth environments. We seek a leader who can participate in technical discussions alongside staff-level engineers, who can mentor engineers and engineering managers, and marshal the resources to help increase the velocity of the team and help fulfill our business objectives.
Our current technology stack includes NodeJS with Typescript, Ruby, Postgres, Google Cloud Platform, and FreeSWITCH.

Must Have
- Based in the USA. This position is not open to other countries at this time.
- 10+ years of hands-on engineering experience, including 4+ years of end-to-end engineering management experience managing other managers
- Own the technical execution of the company, leading the engineering function to deliver and support high-quality products
- Track record of setting values, goals, processes, and examples across a team of 40+ engineers to promote high velocity with minimal technical debt
- Deep technical expertise that lets you review code and architect maintainable solutions alongside staff-level engineers
- Mentor developers and engineering managers on their technical, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills so they can further their career goals
- Flexibility to step in as an engineering manager and mentor individual contributors as we grow the team
- Comfortable working with the product team to assess solutions to user problems with the goal of balancing impact, efficacy, feasibility, and complexity.
- Fluent in, or can quickly become fluent in, TypeScript.
Nice To Have
- Experience at a startup or high-growth company.
- Familiarity with Node, Postgres, and Ruby.
- Experience recruiting and/or mining an existing network for engineers.
