Hut 8 operates in digital asset mining and high-performance computing infrastructure. It mines Bitcoin at scale with vertically integrated operations, owning mining hardware and managing power and facilities to control costs and profitability. In addition to mining, Hut 8 offers enterprise-grade technology services, including cloud and colocation data centers and high-performance computing infrastructure designed for security, reliability, and scalability. The company’s business model blends mining with enterprise data-center services to reduce cryptocurrency market risk while capitalizing on demand for compute-at-scale and digital infrastructure. Hut 8 differentiates itself by owning and operating its own energy and infrastructure, allowing tighter cost control, and by serving enterprise clients with secure, scalable data-center solutions alongside its mining activities.

Get concise insights into Hut 8's operations, services, leadership team, market strategy, and competitive positioning.
Hut 8 has secured a $1.07 billion four-year senior secured revolving credit facility to strengthen its corporate liquidity. The facility offers committed capital with a drawn margin ranging from SOFR plus 150 to 200 basis points, based on the company's consolidated performance.
Hut 8 has acquired bankrupt crypto miner Poolin's two Texas data centre facilities for $140 million, according to court filings. The winning bid secures the "Pyote" and "Tarbush" sites, adding to Hut 8's existing Beacon Point campus in Texas. Hut 8's offer was nearly triple the $52 million opening bid, beating out competing offers that reached $137 million. Poolin filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in July after winding down its Texas crypto mining operations. The acquisition expands Hut 8's data centre portfolio as the former Bitcoin miner pivots to data centre operations. The company now has 949 MW of contracted artificial intelligence infrastructure capacity, representing an estimated $26.6 billion in expected contract value. Hut 8 stock has risen 170% over the past 12 months.
Hut 8 Corp. shares jumped nearly 5% in overnight trading Monday after reports emerged that the company will develop a data center as part of a $35 billion cloud-computing deal between Anthropic and Nvidia Corp. According to The Wall Street Journal, Hut 8 will develop the data center in Nueces County, Texas. The company signed an agreement with Nvidia weeks ago to secure capacity. Lambda will use Hut's data center to plug in chips bought from Nvidia, whilst Nvidia will hold the lease. The deal adds to Hut 8's growing portfolio. The company is already developing data centers for Anthropic to use Google's tensor processing units, backed by financial guarantees from Google. In July, Hut 8 announced 15-year leases for its entire 700-megawatt Texas campus to an unnamed company.
Sean Joseph Glennan, Chief Financial Officer of Hut 8 Corp., sold 6,445 shares at $78.76 per share on 24 August 2026, according to an SEC filing. The sale was worth approximately $508,000. The transaction was executed automatically under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan to cover tax liabilities from vesting restricted stock units, not a discretionary sale. Despite the sale, Glennan's direct holdings increased from 12,068 to 17,978 shares following the vesting event. The sale occurred as Hut 8's stock achieved a 240% return over the prior year. Shares closed at $79.56 on the transaction date, giving the company a market capitalisation of $9.0 billion. Hut 8 operates as an energy infrastructure platform serving energy-intensive computing operations, including cryptocurrency mining and data centres.
