Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of retail management experience is required for the Associate Selling Manager role; the French section separately states a minimum of 1 year of retail management experience for assistant managers.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environment are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required.
  • Excellent time-management and project-management skills are required.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, prioritization of deadlines, and attention to detail are required.
  • The ability to recognize and react to changing work demands is required.
  • The ability to make effective autonomous and group decisions in a timely manner is required.
  • The candidate must be goal-oriented and focused on creating business results.
  • The candidate must be dedicated to high levels of customer service and sales productivity.
  • The candidate must be able to work shifts while standing and walking, lift approximately 20 pounds, and pack, unpack, and move stock.
  • The candidate must be able to travel to remote areas for business meetings.
  • The candidate must be able to work varying hours and days according to business requirements.
Responsibilities
  • Create and foster a database of Club Monaco customers.
  • Implement a Personal Shopper Program and a monthly outreach program as new products reach the store.
  • Provide customer service and handle product, quality, and return-policy inquiries.
  • Brainstorm and execute in-store events with the store management team and district manager.
  • Implement systems to track monthly sales, inquiries, and inquiry types.
  • Lead product-knowledge sessions and communicate product and customer feedback to managers.
  • Open and close the store on designated shifts and find replacement staff when unable to open or close.
  • Monitor and execute daily payroll goals and review payroll procedures for accurate reporting.
  • Assume Store Manager responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence.
  • Organize schedules for Assistant Managers, Managers-in-Training, and Stylists.
  • Achieve or exceed financial plans through effective planning and execution.
  • Analyze sales and wage budgets and launch actions to meet or exceed goals.
  • Monitor sales and financial results, take appropriate store-level action, and communicate needs to the supervisor.
  • Optimize sales, merchandise investment, and wage investment while minimizing stock shortages.
  • Control store expenses and lead the store’s business-planning process.
  • Recruit candidates as needed and maintain and develop a store team able to meet service and sales goals.
  • Select, train, motivate, and coach managers and service associates.
  • Schedule and facilitate training sessions to develop individual and team skills.
  • Provide continuous performance feedback and training to management and service associates.
  • Manage inventory to achieve planned sales and communicate inventory needs.
  • Assess competitive opportunities and ensure operational integrity in store routines and practices.
  • Train managers and service associates in inventory management and supervise physical inventory counts.
  • Audit and coach store management and associates on markdowns, promotional setup, merchandising, damage processing, consolidations, and store standards.
  • Train and support management and service associates in store flips and regular merchandising activities.
  • Ensure the store follows merchandising and flip calendars and meets visual merchandising and maintenance standards.
  • Monitor policy and procedure compliance and model accurate use of company policies.
  • Partner with Loss Prevention on audit standards, results, training, and corrective actions.
  • Produce and influence operational results, motivate staff, and align daily activities with company goals.
  • Monitor sales-floor coverage, breaks, and associate shift changes.
  • Communicate sales performance highs and lows to the Store Manager.
  • Conduct hourly sales readings and coach staff to exceed sales goals.
  • Achieve personal sales goals and lead sales performance on the floor.
  • Protect the customer experience and focus staff on customer relationships and product knowledge.
  • Delegate staff responsibilities appropriately and foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • Support asset protection through effective loss-prevention practices.
  • Follow the Store Operations, Store Audit Standards, Human Resources, and Loss Prevention manuals.
