Responsibilities
  • Perform moderately difficult preventive and corrective maintenance checks on facility components on-site.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, installations, and on-site inspections of facility systems, and support energy-efficiency measures.
  • Monitor the Building Monitoring System and resolve alarm issues in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Operate and maintain plumbing, fire-suppression, and safety systems.
  • Operate critical infrastructure under the supervision of more senior technical staff.
  • Support service-provider work approvals and verify that vendor maintenance activities follow standard operating procedures.
  • Work with vendors to update technical files for plants and equipment.
  • Maintain site logs and permits, including Maintenance Operation Protocols and scripts.
  • Identify single points of failure and make recommendations.
  • Respond to on-site incidents, including failures, problems, and delays.
  • Complete routine work requests and circuit installations.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain office, auxiliary, and industrial equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Make minor changes to mechanical, electrical, and specialized systems as directed.
  • Carry out infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve facility incidents.
  • Provide stakeholders with inventory needs to maintain optimal stock levels of critical parts and equipment.
  • Execute daily technical checks and diagnostics of infrastructure equipment, take protective measures, perform emergency corrective operations, and engage qualified providers when needed.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on campus-site equipment.
  • Perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic lockout and isolation procedures.
  • Set up and supervise external companies and verify their authorizations, methods, and tools.
  • Define, establish, maintain, and inventory critical spare-parts stocks.
  • Participate in repair and corrective-maintenance operations.
  • Detect malfunctions and prepare diagnoses.
  • Write intervention reports to track operations in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Transmit information to the campus Facilities Manager.
  • Understand and apply control and testing rules and procedures.
  • Propose technical and energy improvements.
  • Produce, or ensure the reliability and timeliness of, requested reports for management, the Group, and Equinix France teams.
  • Contribute to defining relevant indicators for activity management and reporting.

This significant milestone paves the way for the internal fit-out to be completed. A ceremony attended by key figures at Mercury and Equinix featured the customary raising of a wreath on the roof of the facility. Mercury is delivering the MU4.3 data centre in Munich for Equinix, a leading global digital infrastructure provider. With a phased fitout strategy, MU4.3 expands an operational facility and reinforces Munich's role within Europe's data landscape. The programme covers full scope construction with significant interfaces in a live environment. Munich remains one of Mercury's longest standing delivery locations, backed by more than twenty years of experience in Germany's data centre market. MU4.3 places a clear emphasis on Whole Life Carbon. Structural solutions, material selection, and coordination with existing assets are being developed with lifecycle performance in mind. Love at work isn't a feeling. It's a decision. One of its clients - Bruce Owen, President of EMEA at Equinix and winner of its 2025 Motivating Through Inclusion Award - has a vision that raises eyebrows the first time you hear it. His ambition, he says, is to scale love at work. Most leaders hear that and move swiftly on. Love? At work? That's a bit much. But Bruce isn't talking about sentiment. He's talking about something far more deliberate - and far more powerful than most leadership frameworks I've encountered. The leader who proved it could be done. Earlier this year, the business world lost Bob Chapman, the Chairman and CEO of Barry-Wehmiller, and one of the most quietly radical voices in modern leadership. I attended a workshop run by the Barry-Wehmiller Institute he founded. Listening was at the heart of everything - genuinely listening to what employees needed, and letting those needs shape business decisions. Chapman ran his company the way a good parent runs a family: with high expectations, deep care, and the belief that every person in the room matters unconditionally. He took Barry-Wehmiller from £18 million to £4 billion. Not despite that philosophy. Because of it. In Everybody Matters, the book he co-wrote with Raj Sisodia, he put it plainly: "We measure success by the way we touch the lives of people." - Bob Chapman, Everybody Matters That is what scaling love looks like when it becomes a business model. Five ways to do It - The voice at the table way. Bruce Owen doesn't talk about love in the abstract either. He builds it into daily practice. The hard part, I've found, isn't knowing what to do. It's that most of these things feel exposing before they feel structural. Which is exactly why most leaders stop short of making them permanent. Here are some of the ways Voice At The Table Ltd has been helping and guiding teams - that others can apply to. 1. Make psychological safety a practice, not a value Introduce a "bias monitor" role in meetings - a named person whose job is to surface when voices are being overlooked or assumptions are going unchecked. Psychological safety doesn't happen because you believe in it. It happens because you build it into the room. 2. Put inclusion on the scorecard Use quarterly scorecards tracking representation and sentiment across the region. What gets measured signals what matters. If inclusion lives only in your intentions, it stays invisible to everyone else. 3. Model vulnerability before you expect honesty Find the courage to openly address your own blind spots and welcome challenge in public. This is not weakness - it is the act that gives everyone else permission to be honest. Leaders set the emotional floor for their teams. If you never show uncertainty, your people won't either. 4. Build structures that give people a sense of belonging Champion one of the employee resource groups to generate conversations on identity, how to support colleagues, and what inclusion looks like in practice. Belonging doesn't arrive with a hire. It requires deliberate structures where people find each other. 5. Put others' growth ahead of your own visibility Be a multiplier - a leader who puts others first and inspires them to be the best version of themselves. Then watch your efforts reap a return on investment of scaled love - people who are more capable, more committed, and more fully themselves because of how you led them. The question worth sitting with. Love at work is not the soft alternative to performance. It is the mechanism behind sustained performance. The leaders who understand that - and build systems to make it real - are the ones whose people deliver long after the strategy deck has been forgotten. Bob Chapman understood it. Bruce Owen lives it. The question is which of these five you'll build into next week - not as an experiment, but as a permanent fixture.

CHICAGO | May 19, 2026 - As AI and digital technology continue to scale, the demand for smarter, more resilient energy and compute infrastructure has never been greater. In response, mHUB, the nation's largest independent hard tech innovation center, today announced a global call for startups building solutions at the compute-energy nexus to join its accelerator program. In partnership with Equinix Foundation, Generac, Hewlett Packard Enterprise Foundation, Marmon Holdings, and Salesforce, and with support from The Rockefeller Foundation, the next mHUB accelerator will focus on technologies advancing data center efficiency, grid and infrastructure resilience, and sustainable energy systems. Applications are now open and will be accepted through Monday, July 13. The 6-10 startups accepted into the program will receive a $200,000 initial investment from mHUB Ventures in exchange for 6.5% equity, which includes $100K in cash, $30K in cash reimbursement for product development, and $70K for in-kind services. Participants receive access to state-of-the-art prototyping labs and technical assistance at mHUB, dedicated mentors and expert-led programming, and connections to industry leaders, investors, and a deep manufacturing ecosystem. The program's Executive Director is Ryan Fant, who brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial experience and operational leadership to mHUB. A two-time Techstars founder, he co-founded Keen Home (acquired) and has led innovation strategy at organizations including Koch Industries and ConnectM.
