  • At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including a track record of building production-quality internal developer platforms, platform tooling, or CI/CD ecosystems at scale, is required.
  • Hands-on experience architecting, building, and operating production LLM or agentic AI automation workflows with strict correctness guardrails and evaluation loops is required.
  • Proficiency with AI-assisted engineering and automated development tools such as Anthropic Claude via Bedrock and GitHub Copilot Enterprise is required.
  • Deep technical expertise in modern CI/CD architecture, pipeline design, artifact management such as Artifactory, and GitOps-based deployment systems such as ArgoCD is required.
  • Demonstrated experience acting as a technical anchor, setting architectural direction, and driving cross-team alignment across complex engineering domains is required.
  • Strong technical writing skills, including authoring architecture RFCs, developer documentation, and enterprise templates, are required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end design and rollout of developer platform initiatives across CI/CD, artifact repositories, release management, and GitOps deployments.
  • Architect and deploy production-grade agentic AI systems, using tools such as Anthropic Claude via AWS Bedrock, to generate, migrate, validate, and maintain platform configurations and deployment manifests at scale.
  • Establish evaluation frameworks, regression testing loops, correctness verification engines, and policy guardrails for safely operating AI-generated developer configurations on production infrastructure.
  • Define enterprise paved-road templates, reusable workflows, and CI compute standards that scale across the organization.
  • Drive developer productivity by establishing AI-assisted code-generation benchmarks, automated pull-request checks via GitHub Copilot, and self-service developer portals.
  • Partner with Infrastructure, Security, and Compliance teams to embed security and policy enforcement into CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Chair technical design reviews, serve as the primary escalation point for complex platform problems, and mentor senior engineers across Central Tech.
  • Manage platform initiatives as internal products by measuring adoption velocity, pipeline reliability, time-to-green metrics, and developer satisfaction to drive iteration.
  • Adhere to Yahoo policies, exercise sound judgment, work safely and inclusively with others, meet expectations, and safeguard business operations and brand integrity.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience leading company-wide GitOps migrations with ArgoCD, including repository structuring, promotion workflows across environments, and secrets management, is preferred.
  • Experience designing custom evaluation frameworks for AI agents interacting directly with cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines is preferred.
  • A proven track record of collaborating directly with Security and Compliance stakeholders to encode governance policies into automated platform guardrails is preferred.
  • Active open-source contributions to developer tooling, CI/CD plugins, or platform engineering frameworks are preferred.

Yahoo raises $1.6B with 11% bond yield as Apollo-backed firm refinances debt

Yahoo has raised $1.6 billion in high-yield financing to refinance debt from Apollo Global Management's acquisition of the company. The deal comprises a $700 million term loan B priced at 6.5 percentage points over the US benchmark and $900 million in junk bonds due in 2031 at an 11% yield. The 11% yield represents one of the highest-yielding corporate debt offerings this year, significantly above the 7.2% average for existing B-rated bonds. The refinancing replaces loans from Apollo's 2021 $5 billion buyout of Yahoo from Verizon Communications, which were priced more favourably at 5.5 percentage points over benchmark. Moody's Ratings noted concerns about Yahoo's reliance on desktop traffic and competition from larger players in search advertising, though the deal attracted strong investor interest amid broader high-yield issuance.

Executives at Yahoo!, which owned a 40 percent stake in the Chinese e-commerce giant, were under the gun from their own investors to cut corporate debt and extract value from their prized asset, and they wanted to sell down their stake. The problem: The Alibaba executives were struggling to find buyers.
