Responsibilities
  • Complete the comprehensive training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences, activities, and time with district leaders.
  • Follow company standard operating procedures at each workstation to support pharmacists and technicians in managing and improving patient health.
  • Follow pharmacy workflow procedures in production, pickup, drive-through, and drop-off areas for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Create positive patient experiences by providing empathetic service at pickup, drive-through, and over the phone; offer immunizations and other services where appropriate; and solve or escalate patient problems.
  • Offer counseling, answer medical questions, and obtain patients' medical histories when appropriate under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and contact prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes where permitted by state regulation.
  • Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members while sharing best practices.
  • Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law, including putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns to stock, and waiting-bin inventories.
  • Apply pharmacy best practices and expand clinical and technical knowledge to better assist patients.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs and voluntarily travel to market stores to work shifts as needed.
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and company policies, including controlled-substance dispensing and recordkeeping requirements and patient privacy and security protections.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services such as immunizations, point-of-care testing, and voluntary staffing at offsite clinics where legally permitted and supported by required training and certification.
  • Complete additional licensure and training requirements to obtain technician immunizer status where permitted.
  • Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the pharmacist on duty.
  • Monitor and respond to adverse reactions and report adverse-reaction events as required by public-health regulations.
  • Review and collect patient information and track and document information for applicable patients.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer-service setting.
  • Ability to become immunization certified after meeting state regulations and provide patient immunizations.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across other market locations to meet business needs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

CVS Omnicare completes $250M bankruptcy sale after $440M government settlement

CVS Health's Omnicare division has completed its Chapter 11 bankruptcy liquidation after selling its business operations for $250 million. A Texas bankruptcy judge approved the wind-down plan following a $440 million settlement with the Justice Department over improper billing practices. Omnicare, which served nursing homes and long-term care facilities, filed for bankruptcy in September 2025 after facing a $949 million judgement for fraudulently dispensing drugs without valid prescriptions and billing federal healthcare programmes for false claims.
