About the job

Requirements
  • Expert-level mastery of machine-learning lifecycle platforms such as Kubeflow, MLflow, Triton, and TorchServe, and distributed training frameworks such as PyTorch, Ray, and Horovod.
  • At least 10 years of experience with Kubernetes, containerization, and high-performance computing clusters using GPUs or TPUs.
  • Experience optimizing large-scale data and model pipelines.
  • System design capability for available, scalable, and secure multi-tenant platform services.
  • Hands-on experience with large language model orchestration, fine-tuning infrastructure, or serving optimization using tools such as vLLM or TensorRT-LLM.
  • Ability to operate independently in high-ambiguity environments and take end-to-end accountability for complex system integrations and platform consolidation.
  • Commitment to mentoring senior engineers and fostering technical excellence and collaboration.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with data scientists and machine-learning engineers across the company to design end-to-end solutions on the AI Platform and serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex adoption cases.
  • Drive large-scale training on the AI Platform, including throughput, reliability, cost, and developer experience; advise and contribute hands-on across foundation model training, reinforcement learning, simulation, and large language model fine-tuning workloads.
  • Improve the end-to-end process from idea to shipped model, including data, training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring, reducing iteration time and improving model quality for high-value use cases.
  • Design and drive integrations across model serving, machine-learning pipelines, data serving, AI infrastructure, and AI automation tooling to create a coherent platform experience.
  • Translate user pain points surfaced through embeddings, support channels, and direct user work into functional requirements; propose cross-platform solutions for data-science and machine-learning engineering users.
  • Produce reference architectures, patterns, and best-practice guidance to help machine-learning use cases use the platform without recurring bespoke platform-team involvement.
  • Stay current with state-of-the-art machine-learning infrastructure, large language model serving, training systems, and reinforcement learning; partner with the AI Platform Head of Engineering to determine what to adopt, build, or skip.
  • Raise the technical bar across the AI Platform through code, design reviews, written artifacts, and direct mentorship of senior engineers across the organization.

About the company

Grab operates a multi-service platform in Southeast Asia, including ride-hailing, food delivery, and logistics. GrabExpress is its on-demand parcel delivery that lets customers and businesses send documents and packages via the Grab app, with up to 10 concurrent deliveries, real-time tracking, and islandwide coverage (with some restricted areas) from 9am to 6pm (often extending to 10pm). Revenue comes from delivery fees that depend on distance, time, and item type, and the service relies on a large network of delivery partners. Unlike specialists that focus on a single niche, GrabExpress sits within Grab’s all-in-one app to offer convenient, fast, and secure parcel delivery for individuals and businesses in the region.
