About the job
- A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting or financial analysis.
- Experience with standard concepts of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and practices and procedures within the accounting field.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work in a changing and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Maintain and balance accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain the general ledger, prepare a trial balance, and reconcile entries.
- Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other statements.
- Contribute to the development and review of annual operating budgets and performance projections.
- Perform close-of-day, month-end, and year-end processes and prepare required reports.
- Supervise and take ownership of invoicing, returns and credits, and accounts receivable collections processes.
- Work with the procurement department to improve processes and reduce expenses.
- Respond to information requests, review financial statements, and assist with requirements from an outside accounting firm.
- Provide additional assistance as needed by executive management.
