Requirements
  • A master's degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs, Human Resources, Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • At least five years of progressive leadership experience in career development, employer relations, coaching, student affairs, business development, recruitment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Experience establishing and strengthening relationships with local and global employers across industries to promote student talent and identify internship, full-time employment, and mentorship opportunities is required.
  • Experience working across an organization with multiple stakeholders is required.
  • Experience counseling and advising students individually and in groups on recruitment and job-search strategies is required.
  • Experience identifying and addressing students’ needs and skills and formulating individualized action plans for job seekers is required.
  • Advanced experience managing contact-management software is required; Handshake experience is preferred within this requirement.
  • Experience developing and supervising full-time administrative and professional staff, including making effective recommendations for hiring, promotions or salary adjustments, and evaluations, is required.
  • Knowledge of career and internship development, job searching, and administering online self-assessment resources and tools is required.
  • Ability to quickly assess students’ career-related needs and provide useful advising within brief time frames is required.
  • Ability to effectively critique CVs/resumes and cover letters in a timely manner is required.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop an employer outreach strategy that creates a pipeline of jobs and internships for undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Lead the employer relations team in executing the employer outreach strategy, with a focus on the United Arab Emirates and regional market.
  • Oversee all employer events on campus, including career fairs, large-scale networking events, and boutique programming.
  • Manage the employer interface for Handshake, the shared career-management software used by the New York, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai campuses.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of employer contacts and relationship management to maintain continuity over time.
  • Build talent pipelines and expand awareness of student talent in the United Arab Emirates and globally.
  • Adapt employer outreach strategy based on industry trends, student interests, and feedback to ensure broad recruitment options.
  • Conduct introductory, follow-up, and other meetings with employers throughout recruitment.
  • Oversee on-campus recruitment for jobs and internships, including interviews, employer information sessions, and related content.
  • Ensure employers align with recruitment guidelines, United Arab Emirates labor law, and other government regulations, collaborating with relevant university offices as appropriate.
  • Support broader university partnerships by collaborating with internal stakeholders focused on external relations and making referrals as appropriate.
  • Oversee assessment of internship quality and satisfaction through surveys and incorporate the data into CDC team decision-making.
  • Develop a micro-experiences portfolio to support employer connection points for students.
  • Conduct individual appointments and walk-in coaching meetings with students on job and internship search strategy, visa and employment regulations, negotiation, CV and cover-letter development, and networking.
  • Support two industry-focused career communities by curating programming, alumni connections, and upskilling opportunities.
  • Oversee enforcement of the student professional conduct policy in collaboration with the Student Affairs conduct team.
  • Deliver programming for undergraduate and graduate students on job markets and trends, negotiations, recruitment strategy, and other career-education topics.
  • Oversee employer- and external-facing aspects of CDC grant programs, including employer experience, student/employer contracts, work permits, and work status.
  • Oversee integration of professional-development programs, including mentorship and advancement opportunities, into the student employability journey.
  • Hire, train, and supervise three full-time staff members.
  • Conduct regular check-ins to manage staff performance.
  • Ensure staff understand and align with CDC goals, vision, and values.
  • Engage in divisional projects as needed.
  • Support students and the university mission through student-facing initiatives and serve as an essential staff member during emergencies.
