Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in a construction environment or similar role.
- Familiarity with construction terms and practices.
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills.
- Ability to understand and effectively execute verbal and written directions.
- Adherence to company health, safety, and environmental reporting and standard assessments.
- A valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload construction materials and move materials to work areas.
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, barricades, and other items required at construction sites.
- Assist and work with tradespersons and other members of the construction team.
- Assist and work with heavy equipment operators by securing special attachments to equipment, signaling operators to guide equipment movement, and providing assistance with other activities.
- Assist in aligning pipes and perform related activities during underground utilities construction.
- Assist in excavation and backfill and perform related earthworks construction activities using shovels, rakes, plate tampers, and other applicable tools.
- Check slopes for conformance to requirements using levels or lasers.
- Remove rubble and debris to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers as directed.
- Operate and maintain construction machines or equipment such as mixers, compressors, and pumps.
- Perform other related duties as required.
