Lunch Wrap: BHP hits record as miners fire up; PLS brings divvy back. * Miners fire up as BHP hits fresh highs * PLS brings the dividend back from the dead * ABB and Regal cop an earnings season whack The S&P/ASX 200 was up around 0.6% by lunchtime on Monday in Sydney, as miners grabbed the market by the collar and dragged it into the green. Wall Street at least did its bit on Friday. All three major indices rose as the US economy keeps refusing to roll over. Which brings Stockhead to Jackson Hole, where new Fed chair Kevin Warsh gets the microphone on Friday. Markets basically want Warsh to show his hand on inflation and rates, because right now bond traders are doing the talking for him. Back on the ASX, miners were having an absolute day out after commodities went for a run last Friday night. Copper jumped 1.5%, gold climbed 2%, and uranium stocks ripped higher offshore. When they all decide to have a crack at once, owning a giant hole in the ground starts looking pretty clever. Telecoms, meanwhile, were getting the other end of the stick, with Aussie Broadband (ASX:ABB) whacked after results. ABB slid 9% despite internet connections rising 41% to 1.1 million and profit growing 7.5%. That gap tells you what investors were thinking: lovely customer growth... now show Stockhead more of it landing on the bottom line. Large cap results in focus. Earnings season keeps rolling on, so here's what the big end of town served up: PLS Group (ASX:PLS) gained 7% after lithium's rebound helped full year net profit hit $526 million, versus a $196 million loss last year. It also brought back the dividend after three years, declaring a fully franked final dividend of 5c a share... something lithium shareholders may vaguely remember from the good old days. Ansell (ASX:ANN) surged around 10% after adjusted full year profit rose 15.8% to US$212.3 million and FY27 EPS guidance came in at US158c-US170c. The company has been jacking up its price rises to offset US tariffs, which means if Washington makes things dearer, someone else is paying. Regis Healthcare (ASX:REG) climbed 4% after full year profit rose 14% to $55.7 million and revenue jumped 16%. Occupancy hit 96% and room prices are rising too, which is a pretty tidy combination if your business model involves beds. Ampol (ASX:ALD) rose 4% after first half replacement cost profit almost quintupled to $857.2 million. Global fuel market chaos did wonders for refining margins, because apparently geopolitical disorder can also be an earnings tailwind. Regal Partners (ASX:RPL) sank around 9% after co-founder Phil King announced his retirement. In funds management, star investors are part of the product, so the market treated his exit like someone had removed a fairly important ingredient. Bendigo and Adelaide Bank (ASX:BEN) slipped after full year cash earnings rose 3% to $530.2 million. Digital bank Up was flying, with lending up 56.3%, but mortgage arrears also edged higher, so it wasn't exactly champagne all round. Endeavour Group (ASX:EDV) dropped nearly 5% after warning that consumers remain cautious despite a decent start to FY27. And... Virgin Australia (ASX:VGN) slipped as investors looked ahead to Bain Capital potentially selling more than $825 million worth of shares from August 31. The reason is Bain's escrow is expiring, but it hasn't necessarily said it will dump the lot. ASX leaders. It's DXN's second AI HPC win in two months, taking its AI HPC order book to around $21 million, with this first phase potentially opening the door to a larger deployment if delivery goes well. Coppermoly (ASX:COY) says MD and CEO Dickson Leah has resigned effective immediately, with company secretary Brett Tucker stepping onto the board as a non-exec director until a replacement is found. First Au (ASX:FAU) is gearing up for its maiden RC drilling program at the historic First Hit gold mine in WA, targeting extensions to high-grade mineralisation as it works towards a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. First Hit previously produced about 29,000oz at ~7.6g/t over just 15 months, and drilling and assay arrangements are already well advanced. Nuix (ASX:NXL) surged after its FY26 statutory net profit swung to $16.4 million from a $9.2 million loss, as revenue jumped 18.8% to $263.2 million and underlying cash flow more than doubled to $51 million. Nuix Neo was the star, with annualised contract value soaring 179% to $78.5 million, while Nuix is targeting total ACV of $285-300 million in FY27. ASX laggards. Healthcare stocks remained active despite a softer week, with the S&P/ASX Health Care Index falling 1.74%. Key events included Apiam Animal Health's $160 million takeover by Adamantem Capital, Lumos Diagnostics' US CLIA waiver study for its FebriDx test, and Vitasora Health's US expansion. Regis Healthcare acquired two Victorian aged care homes for $45 million, adding 230 beds and assuming a $36 million RAD liability, strengthening its presence in Victoria.
