Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in a data center environment or related field.
  • Advanced understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of data center infrastructure and best practices.
  • Ability to lead, communicate, and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to mentor and train others.
  • Ability to work overtime and 12-hour shifts, including days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Ability to perform moderate physical labor, including lifting 45 pounds or more, using fingers and hands, working at varying heights and on ladders, crouching or crawling, and walking on uneven terrain at job sites.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to critical data center equipment, including heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning systems, electrical systems, generators, and fire suppression systems.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into equipment failures to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Create and update Standard Operating Procedures for critical equipment maintenance and emergency response.
  • Oversee contractors' and vendors' work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Provide guidance and training to junior technicians to develop their technical skills and professional capabilities.
  • Regularly assess the facility to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with industry best practices.
  • Document maintenance activities, incidents, and assessments in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Lead safety training programs and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of processes to promote operational excellence.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergencies and critical incidents outside normal working hours.
Desired Qualifications
  • Electrical or mechanical certifications.
