The Intrepid Foundation returns to the Grand Canyon for third annual fundraising trek, welcomes REI co-op, Athletic Brewing, and adventurer Alex Haraus as new partners.

The Intrepid Foundation returns to the Grand Canyon for third annual fundraising trek, welcomes REI co-op, Athletic Brewing, and adventurer Alex Haraus as new partners. 31 July 2026 The Intrepid Foundation - the non-profit arm of Intrepid Travel, a global leader in responsible travel - announced the return of its annual fundraising trek through the Grand Canyon, taking place October 13-17, 2026. Now in its third year, the trek is organized through The Intrepid Foundation in partnership with the Grand Canyon Conservancy, the official non-profit partner of Grand Canyon National Park, with logistical support from Wildland Trekking. This year's trek welcomes new partners, REI Co-op and Athletic Brewing Company, as well as adventurer and environmentalist Alex Haraus, joining The Intrepid Foundation in the effort to raise $75,000 for the Conservancy's work protecting and preserving one of the seven natural wonders of the world. A small group of nine hikers will trek from the north to south rim alongside two professional Grand Canyon Conservancy guides, learning about the park's history and geology while camping under the stars. Because The Intrepid Foundation covers all administrative and operational costs, 100% of funds raised go directly to the conservancy, supporting Indigenous communities connected to the park, wildlife and ecosystem preservation, and visitor experience programs. "The Grand Canyon Conservancy partnership is one I'm especially proud of," said Matt Berna, Senior Vice President, North America at Intrepid. "Now, more than ever, national parks need our support. The devastating North Rim wildfire last year underscores the importance of funding conservation efforts, visiting responsibly, and standing behind the people who protect these parks. Getting to hike alongside Conservancy guides and see their work up close is a powerful reminder of what's at stake. And I'm very proud that every dollar we raise goes straight back into protecting this place for the people who come after us." "Grand Canyon is a place where people come to heal, reconnect, and experience the profound well-being that nature can inspire," said Liz Silkes, CEO of Grand Canyon Conservancy. "We're incredibly grateful to partner with organizations like Intrepid Travel, REI Co-op, and Athletic Brewing that recognize the transformative power of this extraordinary landscape. Their support helps ensure that future generations can continue to find inspiration, renewal, and connection at Grand Canyon while protecting the park's natural and cultural treasures." "Grand Canyon National Park is one of the country's most iconic and inspiring landscapes, and a crown jewel of our public lands," said Alex Boian, Director of Government and Community Affairs for REI Co-op. "As a longtime advocate for the stewardship of this remarkable place, REI is proud to support efforts that help protect and preserve it for future generations. We're honored to continue that commitment alongside The Intrepid Foundation, Athletic Brewing, and Alex Haraus." "The passion for maintaining trails and protecting outdoor space has been a part of our company's DNA since day one," said Cara Wilson, Impact Manager at Athletic Brewing Company. "Through our Two For The Trails grant program, we've invested over $8 million since 2018, and we are thrilled to support this important fundraising effort to help revitalize the trail systems in the Grand Canyon." The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and a UNESCO World Heritage site, but climate change and aridification are affecting the park's water sources, threatening fish species and fragile habitats. Through The Intrepid Foundation, donations to Grand Canyon Conservancy support the elevation of Indigenous voices, the restoration of wildlife habitat along the Colorado River, the preservation of dark skies and historic structures, and the maintenance of backcountry trails. The partnership between The Intrepid Foundation and Grand Canyon Conservancy comes at a critical moment for the National Park System. America's national parks attracted more than 330 million visitors last year and generated over $56 billion in economic output, yet the National Park Service lost more than 24% of its permanent workforce - over 4,000 staff - since January 2025. Parks are being asked to do more with dramatically less. Against that backdrop, The Intrepid Foundation's work with Grand Canyon Conservancy is one direct way to channel support into protecting these landscapes for future generations. Athletic Brewing named 2026 Brewery of the Year. Athletic Brewing News July 30, 2026 Athletic Brewing Company has some pretty big news: Athletic Brewing was named 2026 Brewery of the Year at the third annual International Non-Alcoholic Competition. Its lineup also earned eight individual medals, including one Double Gold, three Golds, two Silvers and two Bronzes. Athletic Brewing Company is proud of the recognition. But the award belongs to more than the people inside its breweries. It also belongs to everyone who has cracked open an Athletic, brought a six-pack to a gathering, shared a favorite brew with a friend or told Athletic Brewing Company which style Athletic Brewing Company absolutely needed to make next. Awards are great. Getting to share its brews with you is even better. What's the International Non-Alcoholic Competition? The International Non-Alcoholic Competition, or INAC, evaluates non-alcoholic beverages from producers around the world. The competition received more than 200 entries representing over seven countries. Leading non-alcoholic beverage buyers judged the products by category and price. Its Moscow "Mule" cocktail-inspired brew earned Silver and 93 points. Upside Dawn Golden - Bronze, 91 points. A smooth, refreshing classic that continues to rise to the occasion. Upside Dawn received a Bronze medal with a score of 91. Ripe Pursuit lemon Radler - Bronze, 91 points. A bright, citrusy Radler built for sunny days and victory laps. Ripe Pursuit also took home Bronze and 91 points. What does Brewery of the Year mean to Athletic Brewing Company? Great non-alcoholic beer is about building flavor, maintaining balance and making beverages that people want to drink. Every style presents a different challenge, from preserving hop aroma in a hazy IPA to delivering crisp refreshment in a light brew. Recognition across eight very different beverages makes this honor especially meaningful. It reflects the experimentation, care and relentless work happening across its brewing team. More importantly, it reinforces the idea that Athletic was founded on: choosing a non-alcoholic beer should never feel like settling. Best Sellers Pack. Its all-time greatest hits, all in one box. The Best Sellers Pack brings together its most-loved brews - Run Wild IPA, Upside Dawn Golden, Free Wave Hazy IPA, and crisp Athletic Lite. Whether you're new to Athletic or already hooked, this mix is a one-way ticket to discovering why fans keep coming back. Athletic Brewing Company and renowned chefs bring back Aftershift in support of Mental Health Awareness Month. PR Newswire Yesterday at 12:00pm PDT Fan-favorite collaboration brew returns with expanded distribution in chefs' home markets MILFORD, Conn. and SAN DIEGO, May 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Athletic Brewing Company, America's largest dedicated non-alcoholic brewer, today announced the return of Aftershift, its limited-edition collaboration brew in support of Mental Health Awareness Month. Crafted alongside five celebrated culinary leaders, Aftershift reunites Athletic with chefs Chris Cosentino, Chris Shepherd, David Chang, Ashley Christensen, and Sarah Grueneberg. First introduced in 2025 as an online exclusive, the limited-time zesty session returns this year with expanded distribution in each of the chefs' markets, and a continued mission to spotlight mental health in the food and beverage industry. "Aftershift really hit the mark last year - not just for its flavor, but for what it represents," said John Walker, Co-Founder and COO of Athletic Brewing. "We're proud to bring it back with this incredible group of chefs and continue supporting hospitality workers nationwide." Pouring a pale golden hue with bright notes of lime leaf and yuzu, Aftershift is a light-bodied, highly drinkable brew with a clean, crisp finish and a subtle balance of tartness and bitterness. Celebrating the resilience of the food service industry, it reflects the rhythm and realities of life in the kitchen - fast-paced, high-pressure, and the importance of unwinding after service. Made for those who want to enjoy a drink without the buzz, Aftershift was designed as a post-shift reward, offering a versatile profile that pairs effortlessly across the menu - from salty snacks and tapas to raw oysters and wood-fired pizza. For the second consecutive year, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, $50,000 of Aftershift's profits will go to the Southern Smoke Foundation, a nonprofit founded by Chef Chris Shepherd that offers emergency relief funding and no-cost mental health services to food and beverage workers nationwide. "The Southern Smoke Foundation is proud to once again join forces with Athletic and this group of amazing chefs," said Shepherd. "The need for mental health support in our industry hasn't changed, and neither has our commitment to showing up. Together, we can continue delivering vital resources to those who need them most." Created in collaboration with chefs who understand firsthand the demands of hospitality, Aftershift stands as both a celebration of the restaurant industry and a commitment to the well-being of those who power it. Every can helps strengthen and support an industry that brings joy to millions every day. Aftershift is now available for purchase on www.athleticbrewing.com, and will be sold at select on- and off-premise retailers in Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Raleigh, North Carolina, and San Francisco while supplies last.
