Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:

• Manage the maintenance of control system for inventoried items for all stocking locations. Develop planning and control methods/procedures for all stocking locations. Develop and document inventory control processes in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Establish working guidelines for stock levels and status decisions in line with the Xylem business plan.  Train staff and audit to insure compliance.
• Coordinate inventory control activities with other company functions impacting inventory control problems and develop solutions to maintain targeted inventory accuracy. 
• Manage distribution operations for Bridgeport location – direct responsibility for distribution stock levels and replenishment. Develop and maintain replenishment guidelines, targeted stock levels for all inventoried items. Ensure all orders are fulfilled expediently and items are placed on order efficiently to fulfill any backorders for branches as well as customers.
• Insure maintenance of accurate inventory records and timely inventory audits at all stock keeping locations. Oversee, schedule and supervisor regular physical inventory counts and cycle counting activity for all locations.
• Develop and manage the Logistics Department performance standards and develop the skills and knowledge of all of the logistics staff.
• Directly supervise all shipping and receiving personnel. Ensure employees adhere to all company policies and standard operating procedures. Address any performance or safety issues including steps to execute disciplinary actions according to company policy.
• Manage overtime to optimize performance while minimizing/controlling cost.
• Assign order load and/or special tasks to personnel to meet on time delivery goals.
• Confirm daily transition of first shift operations to second shift operations to avoid any disruption in work flow or compromises to customer service.
• Confirm all materials are unpacked, sorted, accurately counted and properly labeled and the Goods In process is completed. Confirm received items are delivered timely to requisitioning departments.
• Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery documents.
• Maintain department and company database, prepare routine reports, file shipping/receiving records. Measure and report team performance as agreed through daily, weekly and monthly metrics.
• Review and approve order requests for department supplies.
• Follow established departmental policies and procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Ensure employees are knowledgeable of systems and procedures to include Rental Result, FedEx, UPS and execution of export orders. Coordinate training as necessary in order fulfillment, equipment operation, safety and all other aspects of job performance.
• Responsible for coming in early, staying late and working non-standard work days/hours as needed to meet customer requirements.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor degree in business, technology, operations management or related field or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of inventory management related experience.

Specialized Knowledge Required – Including any required certificates, licenses, and registrations

• Working knowledge of US Customs regulations and Trade Compliance a plus.
