Deutsche Bank upgrades Netflix to Buy despite U.S. YouTube gains, cuts target to $95

Deutsche Bank upgraded Netflix to Buy on 29 September, arguing investors focus too much on US viewing habits while overlooking international growth. Analyst Bryan Kraft noted non-English titles now account for over a third of Netflix viewing, with time spent on the platform rising abroad in each of the past four half-year periods. The upgrade comes despite a price target cut to $95 and reduced profit estimates, making it primarily a valuation call. Netflix now trades at roughly 18 times Deutsche Bank's 2027 earnings estimate, down from approximately 40 times at its June 2025 peak. The bank believes Netflix's production scale—over half its content now originates outside the US—will protect its global position. US and Canada revenue represented less than half of second-quarter sales at $5.4 billion of $12.6 billion total.

Deutsche Bank shares fall 4.5% as CFO signals flat Q3 investment banking revenue, raises 2026 net interest income outlook

Deutsche Bank shares fell 4.5% after CFO Raja Akram indicated that Investment Bank third-quarter revenues could be flat to slightly lower year over year, depending on activity in the final days of the quarter. This follows a strong Q3 2025 comparison when IB revenues jumped 18% year over year. Fixed Income & Currencies activity was healthy in July before slowing in August, whilst September trends have been mixed. Credit trading remained below year-ago levels, though activity across other businesses stayed steady, with strong deal activity in mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, and debt issuance. Management raised its 2026 net interest income outlook to slightly above the previous guidance of nearly €14 billion. Over the past six months, Deutsche Bank shares gained 23.9%.
