Requirements
  • Previous experience as a director of a full-service luxury spa, preferably within a hotel or resort setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of spa operations, wellness treatments, retail, and current industry trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive financial performance, enhance guest satisfaction, and foster employee engagement.
  • Ability to use systems such as Book4Time, Opera, BirchStreet, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours based on business needs.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Spa, Retail, Fitness, and Club 1927 Membership, maintaining a strong daily presence in all wellness areas, engaging with guests and colleagues to ensure service excellence and addressing immediate operational needs.
  • Develop, communicate, and implement the strategic vision for the Spa and all wellness initiatives, ensuring alignment with global Fairmont standards and the hotel’s brand identity.
  • Lead innovation in wellness concepts, experiential offerings, and guest-centric programming to position the property as a premier wellness destination within the luxury market.
  • Serve as the hotel’s subject-matter expert on wellness trends and collaborate with all departments to embed wellness experiences throughout the guest journey.
  • Use data-driven insights, including competitive analysis, guest feedback, and market trends, to exceed revenue goals and proactively adapt to business conditions.
  • Develop long-term plans for business growth, capital investment, and operational enhancements.
  • Support peak periods through active involvement in daily operations, provide real-time coaching, and ensure every guest touchpoint aligns with service excellence.
  • Drive departmental financial performance, including revenue generation, cost control, payroll, and profitability metrics.
  • Lead and develop a team committed to delivering personalized and transformative guest experiences through a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to design and implement promotions, events, and seasonal activations aligned with wellness objectives and revenue targets.
  • Foster continuous improvement by using guest feedback, colleague engagement insights, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and colleagues, with a strong focus on health and safety protocols.
  • Follow department policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience within a hotel or resort setting.
  • A degree or diploma in hospitality, business, or a wellness-related field.
  • Familiarity with Book4Time, Opera, BirchStreet, and Microsoft Office.
  • Results-driven and adaptable, with the ability to perform well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to lead by example and cultivate a team culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
