Requirements
  • Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience working in a similar field.
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills and good information technology skills.
  • Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice.
  • Work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage change in a way that prioritises service users' needs.
  • Understand information governance processes and follow necessary safeguards.
  • Seek learning opportunities to improve and broaden professional knowledge and skills, and contribute to and oversee the learning and development of others.
Responsibilities
  • Support service users from entry into the service and throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Undertake focused work with communities of interest, including sex workers, homeless people, Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, and people with mental health issues.
  • Provide screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral.
  • Reduce drug- and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promote carer, service user, and community involvement.
  • Advocate for access to partnership services.
  • Support service users' social reintegration, enabling meaningful and purposeful lives by promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.
