Requirements

A Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Five to seven years of experience in the manufacturing industry is required.
Hands-on experience with shop-floor supervision is required.

Responsibilities

Directly supervise hourly associates and direct resources as required.
Plan, schedule, set up, and run production activities.
Manage the dispersal and distribution of production materials.
Maintain labor and material requirements to meet the daily production schedule.
Oversee production associates and coordinate with production support staff leaders.
Communicate expectations and provide direction and training.
Monitor work performance and provide feedback.
Coordinate maintenance of production equipment.
Oversee process control and quality process control.
Supervise production associate outcomes by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; and adhering to policies and procedures.
Maintain production processes by observing process volumes and recommending process adjustments.
Complete production processes by monitoring progress, expediting material flow and work results, and resolving problems.
Improve process workflow by eliminating stoppages, analyzing delays, and testing new methods.
Record production by completing daily shift production reports and calculating yields and recoveries.
Maintain process flow by communicating production status, requirements, and problems to the next shift.
Maintain working relationships with unions, where applicable, by complying with collective bargaining agreement terms.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy production-process environment by following organizational standards, policies, and legal regulations and alerting others to potential concerns.
Contribute to production-process and organizational success by helping others accomplish job results.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

Experience in the powder metallurgy industry is preferred.

Required Skills and Education

B.E. or DME Mechanical

5-7 years of experience from manufacturing industry

Hands on experience on shop floor supervision

Preferably from Powder Metallurgy industry
