Requirements
  • Zero to two years of experience is required.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and an active Patient Care Technician certification are required.
  • An American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Successful completion of one of the following certifications is required: CPT, CPCT-A, or ACMA.
  • The employee must work full-time days for 36 hours per week, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with weekend and holiday rotation.
Responsibilities
  • Support patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, mobility, and transport, while following standard precautions.
  • Perform technical duties as directed by the Registered Nurse, including phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, electrocardiograms, and Foley catheter care, and document appropriately.
  • Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the Registered Nurse and respond appropriately while maintaining safe patient practices.
  • Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
  • Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and performance-improvement activities.
  • Assist in orienting new hires.
  • Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by the required due date.
  • Adhere consistently to safety protocols and quality standards to maintain a safe environment and high-quality patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and coworkers.
