Requirements
  • A Wisconsin medical license is required, or the candidate must be eligible for licensure by the start date of the position.
  • The candidate must be board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians by the start date of the position.
  • The candidate must complete a United States Family Medicine residency by the start date of the position.
  • An MD or DO, or equivalent, is required.
  • The selected candidate must pass an initial caregiver check and subsequent checks every four years under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law.
  • The selected candidate must have continuous eligibility to work in the United States and provide proof of work authorization and eligibility to work.
  • The department cannot support a request for a J-1 waiver.
Responsibilities
  • Provide the full spectrum of family medicine patient care.
  • Provide clinical teaching to medical students and other learners.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in the clinical faculty phone-call schedule.
  • Conduct nursing home visits.
  • Participate in departmental meetings.
  • Perform administrative duties as necessary for the position.
  • Optionally participate in obstetrics or maternity care and newborn rounding; physicians practicing obstetrics participate in the shared obstetrics call group.
  • Participate in administrative and committee work supporting the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
  • Potentially engage in academic scholarly work.
Desired Qualifications
  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on the CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.
