Requirements
  • Experience leading group fitness, exercise, wellness, or movement classes.
  • A genuine interest in working with older adults and supporting healthy aging.
  • Ability to lead engaging classes for participants with a variety of abilities and fitness levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A warm, energetic, dependable, and hospitality-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Lifestyle Director and other team members.
  • Flexibility to assist with community activities and special events as needed.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to occasional driving responsibilities.
  • Current valid driver's license and ability to maintain a safe driving record.
  • Schedule flexibility, including occasional weekends as needed.
  • Successful completion of required background checks, drug screening, and other applicable pre-employment requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate exercises and movements, stand and move throughout fitness classes, bend, reach, and safely handle fitness equipment and program supplies.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and assist with equipment, activities, outings, or resident transportation.
Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead engaging group fitness classes designed for older adults, emphasizing strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, cardiovascular health, and overall wellness.
  • Provide modifications and alternatives so residents with varying fitness levels can participate safely and successfully.
  • Create a positive, encouraging environment that makes fitness approachable and enjoyable.
  • Assist residents with proper use of fitness equipment and promote safe exercise practices.
  • Help maintain an organized, welcoming, and safe Fitness & Wellness Center.
  • Partner with the Lifestyle Director to develop fitness and wellness programming based on resident interests and participation.
  • Assist the Lifestyle Director with resident activities, events, outings, and special programs as needed.
  • Build relationships with residents and encourage participation in fitness, wellness, and community programs.
  • Help with occasional event preparation, program setup, and other Lifestyle Department needs.
  • Occasionally drive residents to community outings, appointments, shopping, or other scheduled destinations using a community vehicle or van.
  • Provide residents with a friendly, professional, and safe transportation experience.
  • Assist residents entering and exiting the vehicle when appropriate.
Desired Qualifications
  • CPR/AED certification is preferred.
  • Group fitness certification or a relevant fitness/wellness credential is preferred.
