Requirements
  • A master's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent, with 18 graduate credit hours in the field of instruction.
  • Ability to teach across design disciplines at lower and upper levels, including web design, video production/editing, interactive design, user interface/user experience design, and motion graphics.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and industry-standard design software.
  • Ability to use Canvas to convey course information to students and document student success.
  • Ability to provide quality instruction within a design curriculum.
  • Knowledge of production in interaction, video, and animation/motion graphics.
  • Ability to apply design proficiencies to undergraduate instruction.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow job-related procedural and policy manuals.
  • Ability to respond positively and receptively to supervision, guidance, and direction in accordance with stated policies.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service by creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Ability to establish working relationships and communicate and collaborate with others to achieve common goals.
  • Ability to critically evaluate situations and processes and make recommendations for improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Teach at undergraduate and/or graduate levels as applicable.
  • Provide instruction according to curricular needs associated with the Bachelor of Arts degree in Digital Media Design.
  • Provide a learning environment that supports student success.
  • Implement effective learning strategies and deliver high-quality instruction.
  • Assess student learning.
  • Collaborate closely with resident faculty, the course coordinator, and other design faculty.
  • Use Canvas to convey course information to students, including documentation of student success.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Promote a common purpose consistent with University goals and demonstrate commitment to students and the learning environment.
  • Seek new approaches to improve outcomes and remain open to feedback and new ideas.
  • Lead with integrity, produce high-quality work, overcome obstacles, meet deadlines, and achieve deliverables.
  • Share information and insights thoughtfully, build partnerships across departments, communicate respectfully, and support colleagues to achieve common goals.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree or higher in the field of instruction, design, from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent accreditation.
  • One full year of university-level teaching experience or relevant professional experience in design.
