Requirements
  • Associate of Arts degree in Biomedical Electronics, or two years of post-secondary education or training with emphasis in the sciences and one year of work experience in electronics service, maintenance, and repair.
  • Two years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician I, Paramedic, Laboratory Technician, or equivalent.
  • Acquire a Washington State MA-Phlebotomy certification within the first three months of employment to perform the required anesthesia technician duties.
  • Strong patient care background such as EMT or Paramedic training is sought in competitive candidates.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the operating room physician in preparing patients for surgical operations and procedures.
  • Examine patient vital signs, gather data from monitors, and assist physicians in the operation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and devices.
  • Observe patients post-procedure across newborn, infant, pediatric, and adult age groups.
  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot anesthesia-related equipment used for patient care and monitoring, including blood pressure monitors, electrocardiograph and electroencephalograph equipment, and clinical analyzers.
  • Obtain blood samples and provide blood parameters to medical staff as directed.
  • Perform low-level and high-level disinfection of all anesthesia equipment.
  • Perform related duties as trained and required to support Anesthesia Services.
