Requirements
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a Land Technician or in closely related experience, including at least one year of experience in Alaska.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with motivation, organization, reasoning, workload prioritization, and teamwork skills.
  • Working knowledge of Land Department functions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Graduation from high school or a GED equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
Responsibilities
  • Assist Landmen in preparing oil and gas contracts; process oil and gas leases and related contracts and correspondence for files, county clerks, land administration, and partners; process authorizations for expenditure and invoices; coordinate authorization for expenditure proposal elections by partners; and set up Joint Interest Billings.
  • Prepare correspondence and contracts.
  • Research leases, contracts, and regulatory orders for proposals or specific information for Landmen.
  • Administer payment for new lease purchases and confirm associated documentation for accuracy.
  • Prepare form transmittals, check requests, oil and gas leases, assignments, rights of way, and other associated contracts.
  • Copy and transmit leases, assignments, and related documents to the land administration group and partners.
  • Review invoices, code them to the appropriate authorization for expenditure, circulate them for approvals, and process them for payment.
  • Prepare and mail proposal letters to partners regarding well drilling, workovers, recompletions, and lease acquisitions.
  • Maintain spreadsheets to monitor proposal deadlines, authorization for expenditure spending, leased acreage, and related bonus, brokerage, and other costs.
  • Adhere to the company's values of integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment, and innovation.
  • Support the company's vision and mission.
  • Adhere to the established work schedule and attendance standards, and be punctual to work and meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in Energy Commerce.
  • Preferred proficiency in SAP, Quorum, ArcGIS, and Power BI.
