  • Must type 45 words per minute using both alphabetic and numeric keys.
  • Must maintain proficient knowledge of the MS4 database and related patient-registration and admission programs, including ABN Checker, DDE, and AVES.
  • Must maintain working knowledge of insurance plans, including commercial payers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, Workers Compensation, HMOs, and PPOs, and the associated authorization process.

  • Obtain consents and signatures for treatment and billing; provide patients with Advance Health Care Directives information and Conditions of Admission, and explain each form signed.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable customer service; answer telephone calls professionally by identifying the department and oneself and asking how to help.
  • Determine insurance requirements for elective admissions and outpatient services; for pre-registration registrar duties, defer surgical admissions to patient financial advisors for clearance and benefits.

  • Act as a liaison between physicians and the admitting department regarding admitting procedures, authorizations, and patient orders, complying with applicable state and federal healthcare regulations.
  • Stay informed of new government policies or regulations applicable to the duties, as communicated by the department manager or team leads.

About the company

AHMC Healthcare operates a network of acute-care hospitals in California. It earns revenue by providing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services across its facilities, which are equipped with diagnostic tools like MRI and CT. The organization grows by acquiring existing hospitals and integrating them into a regional network under strong local leadership, and it has been part of ApolloMed since 2018. Its goal is to expand access to comprehensive hospital care across California, serving Medicare and Medicaid patients through a large, efficiently run hospital network.
