  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field and five years of experience in commercial credit, public accounting, financial statement preparation or analysis, or other financial analysis; alternatively, a combined minimum of nine years of higher education and work experience, including five years in one of those areas.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and credit-metric analysis, including calculating and interpreting financial ratios, analyzing data, and completing trend analysis.
  • Emerging proficiency in understanding and negotiating legal documentation, including structural analysis, and the ability to structure transactions independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to identify risk-related issues requiring escalation and adhere to risk, regulatory, policy, and control standards.
Responsibilities
  • Execute transactions and manage portfolios, partnering with senior team members on complex transactions and account coverage.
  • Underwrite new credit requests and material modifications from deal screening through approval and throughout the life of the loan, including recommending additions or removals of conditions.
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios through annual reviews, interim update memoranda, covenant monitoring, problem-loan management, early-warning indicators, and other credit-surveillance activities; identify emerging risk, recommend actions to manage risk and minimize losses, and assign accurate risk ratings.
  • Review financial statements, tax returns, due-diligence reports, credit-bureau information, appraisals, internal credit information, industry research, and peer data; determine when further investigation or information is needed and coordinate its collection.
  • Analyze financial information and prepare written credit analyses, including independent credit-quality assessments, supported risk ratings, credit risks and mitigants, industry concerns, market and financial trends, and other relevant deal issues.
  • Recommend transaction structures based on analyses of the company's case, the bank's base case, and a downside case.
  • Identify suspicious activity and activity that may be contrary to a customer's interests while managing existing portfolio credit risk.
  • Partner with relationship managers throughout the deal process, from screening through approval and the life of the loan, to maintain timely and accurate portfolio risk ratings; spread financial statements and prepare financial models to sensitize transaction conditions.
  • Prepare cash-flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant-sensitivity calculations, financial models, and guarantor-statement analyses as appropriate.
  • Attend client and prospect calls with relationship managers to understand clients and their businesses, analyze and underwrite proposed transactions, and recommend risk ratings.
  • Prepare summaries, present facts, and offer opinions on creditworthiness; assist in structuring loan requests, including suggesting terms, conditions, controls, collateral, and guarantors.
  • Apply knowledge of the financial regulatory environment to underwriting commercial credit transactions and verify compliance with Commercial Credit Policy; evaluate risks associated with non-compliance and present analysis or address questions during credit discussions and committee presentations.
  • Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points and applicable issues raised by external regulators.
  • Lead transaction-execution teams in partnership with a Commercial Credit Analyst and interact with commercial-banking relationship managers and other internal personnel on credit approvals.
  • Provide input into the development and training of junior or newly hired analysts.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Constellation Brands secures $300M delayed draw term loan for corporate flexibility

Constellation Brands has entered into a new term loan credit agreement worth up to $300 million with Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company and other lenders. The delayed draw facility, established on 18 September 2026, will be used for general corporate purposes, including potential debt repayment. The two-year term loans carry interest linked to Term SOFR or a base rate with rating-based margins. Unused commitments will incur a ticking fee beginning 30 days after closing. The agreement includes covenants that mirror the company's existing revolving credit facility. These impose limits on subsidiary indebtedness, liens, mergers, affiliate transactions, and sale-leasebacks, whilst requiring minimum interest coverage and maximum net leverage ratios. M&T Bank gains 18% YTD, outpacing Nasdaq amid strong loan growth and rising net interest income

M&T Bank beats Q2 revenue estimates by 1.9% as regional banks show mixed results

Regional banks delivered mixed second-quarter results, with revenues matching analyst expectations on average. M&T Bank reported revenues of $2.52 billion, up 4.9% year on year and exceeding consensus estimates by 1.9%. The bank also beat earnings per share projections and narrowly surpassed net interest income forecasts. Charles River Associates expands credit facility to $400M with six-bank syndicate

Charles River Associates has expanded its credit facility to $400 million through a six-bank lending syndicate. The five-year agreement includes a $75 million term loan and a $325 million revolving credit facility, replacing a previous $300 million facility set to mature in August 2027. The revolving facility can be reduced to $250 million between 16 July and 15 January each year when working-capital requirements are lower. CRA will use proceeds to repay outstanding borrowings, support working capital, fund growth investments, and cover general corporate purposes.
