Requirements
  • Approximately 3 to 6 years of experience in technology procurement, strategic sourcing, vendor management, solutions architecture, technical project delivery, infrastructure sourcing or a related role.
  • Strong technical aptitude and a practical understanding of enterprise technology environments, including the ability to assess requirements, dependencies, implementation considerations and supplier proposals.
  • Experience sourcing or delivering complex infrastructure, high-performance compute, graphics processing units, datacentre, colocation, low-latency network or direct-liquid-cooled technology.
  • Broad knowledge of technology products or services across several categories, such as hardware, software, cloud, data, telecommunications, datacentre services or professional services.
  • Ability to quickly develop knowledge of unfamiliar or emerging technologies and engage credibly with specialist engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Experience running structured sourcing and negotiation processes and evaluating commercial models, contractual terms, supplier risk and total cost of ownership.
  • Proven project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives and balance technical, commercial, logistical, operational and risk considerations.
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management and vendor management skills, including translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and commercial constraints for technical stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written reasoning skills and numeracy.
  • A bachelor's degree in an analytical, technical, engineering, scientific, financial or quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Responsibilities
  • Research, evaluate, negotiate and procure technology products and services across hardware, software, cloud, market data, network and connectivity, datacentre and colocation, professional services and emerging technologies.
  • Lead structured sourcing processes, including requirements definition, requests for information, requests for proposals, vendor due diligence, proposal evaluation, commercial negotiation, contract review, purchase approvals and implementation handover.
  • Work with engineering, infrastructure, information security, legal, finance and business teams to define requirements and assess technical options, vendor roadmaps, licensing and commercial models, support arrangements, implementation risks and total cost of ownership.
  • Support the procurement and delivery of complex infrastructure projects, including compute, graphics processing units, storage, network, power, cooling, datacentre capacity and exchange connectivity requirements.
  • Manage supplier relationships across original equipment manufacturers, resellers, software and cloud providers, market data vendors, network carriers, datacentre and colocation providers and professional services firms.
  • Support the commercial and procurement workstreams of technology implementation projects, including supplier coordination, delivery planning, risk management, acceptance and operational handover.
  • Manage hardware and enterprise software asset lifecycles, including renewals, maintenance, support, utilisation, refresh planning and decommissioning.
  • Conduct cost reconciliation, spend analysis, budget tracking, vendor reporting and financial data administration.
  • Improve procurement processes, documentation, governance and stakeholder workflows.

London's biggest taxpayer set for $866M+ payday as trading firm posts record $2.2B profit

XTX, the trading firm owned by London's biggest taxpayer Alex Gerko, posted record profits of £1.7 billion in 2025, up 33% from the previous year. Revenues rose 44% to £3.9 billion as the company capitalised on market volatility. Gerko, who owns 75% of XTX, paid himself £682 million last year and paid £331.4 million in personal tax, making him London's highest taxpayer. The Russian-born British citizen founded XTX in 2015 and has grown it into one of Britain's most profitable companies using machine learning technology to handle over $250 billion in daily transactions. The 46-year-old mathematician has donated more than £350 million to charities since 2020, focusing on mathematics education and conservation efforts.

SOLVE Chemistry raises £4M led by XTX Ventures to accelerate chemical R&D with AI

SOLVE Chemistry, a London-based AI startup, has raised £4 million in seed funding led by XTX Ventures, with participation from SuperSeed, Creator Fund and Endgame Capital. The Imperial College London spinout uses ultra-high-throughput data collection hardware to obtain chemical reaction data 20 times faster than traditional methods, training AI models to predict optimal manufacturing processes. The company works with pharmaceutical and agrochemical manufacturers, including BASF and multinational pharmaceutical firms, to accelerate production timelines and reduce costs. The funding will enable SOLVE Chemistry to quadruple production capacity and expand its team.
