- Full-stack expert with 5+ years of software development experience (we don't believe in YOE = talent levels, if you feel qualified, please apply anyways)
- Proficient in React, Next.js, Typescript, FastAPI/Flask, Python
- Experienced in working on a code base at scale and complex backend infrastructures
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and building 3rd party integrations
- Passionate about unlocking equitable access to recruiting and career building, as well as working at an early-stage startup
- Extreme sense of ownership, challenging the status quo, and raising the bar
- Effective collaborator with strong communication skills
- Empathy for customers and strong team spirit in a small, fast-moving, and close-knit team
- Shape engineering culture and values as an early employee
- Own architectural decisions and technical build-out as the company scales
- Build user-facing features and improve performance and reliability of our frontend, and chrome extension
- Improve backend systems and build endpoints for application logic
- Work on Simplify's candidate and recruiter platforms to improve job matching and build meaningful features
- Work on all parts of the system, including backend, dev-ops, database, frontend, and more
- Lead engineering best practices and technology decisions and hire/manage an engineering team.
- Prior experience in an early-stage or ed-tech/hr-tech startup is a plus
- Prior experience in data and analytics
