Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 7+ years of experience managing OEM sales forecasts, production planning, vehicle ordering, inventory allocation and management, mix tracking and/or vehicle distribution
  • A diverse history and skillset within automotive sales operations that makes you both an operations generalist and capable of quickly grasping the detailed tasks necessary to support both short-term and long-term sales planning tasks
  • A knack for robust and accurate data management and analytics, with a talent for building tools to automate data-heavy and labor-intense sales planning tasks
  • A desire to build from a clean sheet that is supported by a talent for creating process, defining tasks, and building alignment with numerous stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain healthy cross-functional relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical mindset and capabilities, augmented by a high degree of technical know-how and savvy with data and analytics tools

Responsibilities
  • Support Scout Motors’ long-term and short-term sales and production planning process, providing analytical inputs and maintaining the planning documents necessary to align market demand and the business objectives of key stakeholders.
  • Participate in a sales planning governance process that includes the relevant stakeholders from Scout Production, Finance, Sales, and the retail network, complies with stakeholder lead-time requirements, and enables the company to make data-driven sales planning decisions.
  • Create, document, and manage the Scout sales and volume plan of record, owning official plan submission and all future-looking scenario planning optimized for high-level company priorities and objectives.
  • In coordination with Scout IT and Scout Production, identify and define the IT and systems requirements and functional capabilities necessary to facilitate the sales and production planning process, including the creation and documentation of all forecasts and production plans, establishment of buildable configurations, and management of production orders. Drive the activities necessary to stand up the necessary systems and forecasts in time for all required sales planning deadlines.
  • In coordination with Scout Digital Products and Scout Production, define and administer the process to transition customer reservations to new, customer-specific vehicle orders, and then to a scheduled production plan.
  • In coordination with Scout Digital Products, Production, and Vehicle Logistics, define and administer an order-matching process to connect Scout reservations with immediately available or soon-to-be produced Scout vehicle inventory.
  • Together with Vehicle Logistics, support the establishment and administration of a repeatable and scalable methodology by which Scout vehicles can be efficiently distributed from the factory to inventory storage sites, retail locations, and various operations hubs in preparation for retail sale.
  • In conjunction with Vehicle Logistics, create and implement distribution processes that contemplate and appropriately account for the distribution of non-retail vehicles, such as corporate vehicles, loaner vehicles, mobile repair units, and fleet vehicles.
  • In coordination with Scout Vehicle Logistics and Scout Digital Products, define and administer flexible processes that can, when needed, accelerate delivery of sold units to optimize profitability, inventory levels, and company business objectives.
  • Create and manage market-level inventory targets including quantities, model mix, trim and option mix, and color. Use these dynamic targets as a basis for informing and filling any available production slots not scheduled for customer orders.
  • Generally support Scout Motors Commercial Operations with corporate development activities such as partner evaluations and other special projects that arise in preparation for the start of retail sales.
  • Conduct the data analysis necessary to evaluate, optimize, and refine sales planning and distribution activities at Scout Motors. Through robust and intelligent data analysis and regular reporting, provide the strategic insights necessary for continuous improvement and elimination of bottlenecks.
