Altasciences provides an integrated CRO that handles the full early‑phase drug development path, from preclinical testing through clinical proof of concept and into manufacturing. Its approach combines discovery support, safety testing, clinical trial execution, and in‑house manufacturing to run programs under one roof. This contrasts with competitors that require pharma and biotech clients to source services from multiple vendors, adding complexity and risk; Altasciences streamlines the process by coordinating all steps. The company aims to help innovator drug programs move quickly and efficiently, delivering integrated data to de‑risk decisions and speed progression to later stages.

What believers are saying

  • Strategic Certara partnership embeds biosimulation to enable earlier proof of mechanism and refined dosing.
  • RegulatoryFlow AI from Evidence Matters automates one-third of nonclinical reports to expedite timelines.
  • 258 active hiring postings in 2025 signal capacity expansion supporting integrated model and growth.

What critics are saying

  • Certara integration enables sponsors to make go/no-go decisions earlier, reducing later-phase trial volume and revenue.
  • AI tools like RegulatoryFlow and Instill erode preclinical consulting margins and program management revenue by 20–30%.
  • Smaller CROs expanding early-phase with lower pricing may force loss of 15–25% of Phase I contracts in 6–12 months.

What makes Altasciences unique

  • Fully integrated CRO/CDMO spans preclinical to clinical proof of concept under one supplier.
  • Proprietary Acceleration Platform reduces timelines by 25–40% via parallel execution and single-point contact.
  • Eight global facilities and 1,800+ employees deliver 98% on-time delivery for early-phase trials.
