Compensation*: Competitive starting salary: $74,900 - $93,700, commensurate with skills and experience. Full Pay Range: $74,900 - $112,400.

Our Location

Energy Trust provides for a range of work location options, including remote, hybrid and in-office work. This position will represent Energy Trust in public settings and potentially at community events. We are open to candidates who live throughout Oregon and Washington. The Data Analyst would be expected to report to the office on a quarterly basis, at minimum.

What We’re Looking For:

The Evaluation Data Analyst manages and analyzes data to support evaluations, market research and savings claims at Energy Trust, including managing the catalog of products used to claim energy savings and generation, and the process by which the catalog is regularly updated. The Evaluation Data Analyst assumes ownership of key data with the responsibility of standardizing definitions, documentation, content, quality, security, and value throughout the organization. The Evaluation Data Analyst serves as an expert on Energy Trust data as well as third party data and coordinates with Planning and Evaluation, Operations Analyst, and IT staff on data issues. The Evaluation Data Analyst participates in cross-functional teams and projects to identify, prioritize, and implement improvements to data and systems to increase operational efficiency. The Evaluation Data Analyst also designs, plans, develops, and manages qualitative and quantitative evaluations of Energy Trust’s programs, initiatives, and pilots, as well as market research.

This individual reports to the Evaluation Manager.

This position is expected to report to the Portland office quarterly at a minimum for all staff and other in-person meetings.

What You’ll Do:

Conduct descriptive and statistical data analyses and market research for evaluation and market research projects.
Acquire, develop, manage, integrate, analyze, and visualize third-party and internal datasets to support organizational data and information needs.
Work with Planning and Evaluation, Operations Analyst, and IT staff to build out the functionality of data systems and make them accessible and useful for staff.
Serve as owner of key data with the responsibility of standardizing definitions, documentation, content, quality, security, and value throughout the organization.
Serve as owner of product data and the product maintenance process.
Design, develop, and manage quantitative and qualitative market research and evaluation projects including data management and analysis. Negotiate with program managers and stakeholders to establish project goals, research design, and timeline.
Design and manage the request for proposal (RFP) process for projects involving contractors. Manage and direct the selected market research and evaluation contractors.
Perform QC for external and internal reporting, including ad hoc reporting and regular quarterly and annual reporting
Read, edit, and comment on market research and evaluation reports prepared by contractors and Energy Trust staff.
Assist with developing and delivering training in data analysis and visualization, as well as relevant tools and platforms, to internal and external staff.
Communicate and present data analysis, evaluation and research results and implications to program staff, management, advisory councils, internal and external stakeholders.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

Obtains the services and directs the work of external contractors.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as economics, mathematics, social sciences, or physical science) or equivalent professional experience.
2-3 years of hands-on experience in data science, data analysis, program evaluation or market research, including management of data analysis projects.
Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and with others to successfully complete projects.
Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to distill complex issues, solutions and ideas into concise and understandable terms for audiences in all levels of the company.
Working knowledge of SQL; experience with Transact-SQL preferred.
Proficiency in statistical and data analysis applications, such as R or Python.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and Power BI.
Ability and interest in learning and mastering new applications and systems quickly and efficiently.
Strong mathematical, statistical, technical, and analytical aptitude, and detail-orientation.
Demonstrated ability to excel in a collaborative team environment, including with parties that may have divergent interests. Must be able to interact with a diverse workforce and be comfortable working in culturally diverse settings and groups.

Reser's Fine Foods cuts electricity use by 20% with refrigeration and compressed air upgrades at new Salem facility

Reser's Fine Foods has completed two major energy efficiency projects at its new Don Pancho West facility in Salem, Oregon, with support from Energy Trust of Oregon. The upgraded refrigeration and compressed air systems are expected to reduce the facility's electricity use by more than 20%, saving nearly 1.9 million kilowatt-hours annually and cutting emissions by 8%. The 300,000-square-foot facility, which opened in September 2025, features a centralised refrigeration system using carbon dioxide as its primary refrigerant. This system is projected to use 41% less electricity than the baseline whilst providing 114% greater capacity. Energy Trust provided technical expertise, a no-cost energy study, and post-installation performance analysis. The organisations have collaborated on energy efficiency improvements at multiple Reser's facilities since 2003.

Energy Trust's Kathleen Belkhayat receives ACEEE Champions of Energy Efficiency in Buildings Award. August 14, 2026 Energy Trust of Oregon is excited to share that its own Kathleen Belkhayat has received the 2026 Champions of Energy Efficiency in Buildings Award from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE). The award honors leaders from the private, public and nonprofit sectors for their accomplishments advancing energy efficiency in the buildings sector. Belkhayat is a Senior Program Manager at Energy Trust, where she leads its commercial energy performance management work. Belkhayat was recognized by ACEEE for designing and implementing Energy Trust's commercial Strategic Energy Management (SEM) program. SEM educates businesses and organizations on how to make lasting operational changes that save energy and lower utility bills. Through hands-on coaching and technical support, participants learn simple changes can improve the comfort, safety and operational performance of their buildings. With more than 18 years of experience in the energy efficiency industry, Belkhayat has helped advance commercial SEM across the Pacific Northwest. New tool makes it easier to track incentive application status. July 27, 2026 On July 31, Energy Trust of Oregon launched a new online application status tool to provide residential customers with greater visibility into incentive applications for their energy-saving projects. The resource allows residential customers and trade allies to quickly check an application's progress once it is submitted without needing to contact Energy Trust's customer support team, offering a convenient self-service option to stay informed and updated. "We are hoping that customers get a better understanding of where their incentive application is in the process and when they might expect their incentive payment," said Alanna Hoyman-Browe, digital transformation program manager at Energy Trust. Energy Trust developed this new tool in response to direct feedback from individual customers, trade allies and community-based organizations, who shared that seeking information about the status of an incentive application can be time-consuming and frustrating. By offering a convenient self-service option for customers to check on their application from submission through incentive payment, this tool will help create a more transparent, customer-centered experience. Ultimately, this supports key priorities in Energy Trust's 2025-2030 Strategic Plan by empowering customers with the information they need to make informed decisions and encouraging greater participation in Energy Trust programs. How it works After submitting an incentive application, customers will receive a confirmation email that includes an incentive tracking number and a link to the application status tool. July 16, 2026 Energy Trust of Oregon was a proud sponsor and participant in this year's Good in the Hood Multicultural Music & Food Festival, one of Portland's longest-running celebrations of community, culture and connection. Held on the last weekend in June in the historic Albina community of Northeast Portland, the two-day festival brings together over 10,000 attendees for a parade, live entertainment, family-friendly activities and a fair with community resources.
