Summary
The Structures & Interiors Engineering Manager coordinates the preparation of engineering orders to cover modification to aircraft or equipment in order to comply with company requested changes or to comply with FAA or other government agency regulations or directives. The Manager also coordinates the technical requirements for induction of new or used aircraft including modifications to aircraft to meet the company’s standards and requirements and provides support to internal customers such as Maintenance and Inflight.

Years of Experience:
•Minimum two (2) years of experience in an engineering management role.
•Minimum five (5) years of experience in an engineering department at a commercial airline in the structures and/or interior area.
•A&P License required if no engineering degree.
•General knowledge of aircraft systems, structures, systems and power plants.
•Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in a variety of settings across all organizational levels.
•Proficiency in Windows applications, including Microsoft Office.
•Superior problem solving and conflict resolution abilities, solid judgment, and influencing skills.
•Proven ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities simultaneously with the ability to be flexible with the changing needs of our business.
Preferred Requirements
•FAA Structures DER certification.
•History of working on the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft with 737MAX experience.
Job Duties
•Manage a staff of several engineers for the Structures and Interiors requirements.
•Review and/or ensure review of Airworthiness Directives and/or other regulatory or company documents to ensure compliance to all requirements.
•Review and/or ensure review of all Service Bulletins (SB’s) and other documents as provided to Allegiant via the Engineering source document system to improve reliability and maintain compliance
•Coordinate with other management within the company, such as Director of Maintenance and Director of Quality, to accomplish modifications on aircraft in service and aircraft that are being acquired and modified to meet company requirements.
•Support for Line Aircraft, Aircraft Induction, Maintenance Checks, Materials and other departments as needed.
•Assist in providing the information needed to determine the financial impact and necessary planning for implementation of aircraft induction into Allegiant Air’s fleet
•Coordinate with engineering organizations outside of Allegiant Air in the preparation and oversight of engineering projects relating to modifications and repair of Allegiant Air’s aircraft
•Support process improvements within the department and other areas as needed
•Ensure any direct reports understand and apply our Customer Commitment and customer service standards to their daily responsibilities, as appropriate.
•Model Allegiant’s customer service standards in personal actions and when providing leadership direction.
•Other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.

Office - While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, key board, printer, and phone. May be required to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 20 lbs. May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation. Regular attendance is a requirement of the role. Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations. Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time. Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
