Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, communications, education, nursing, or a related field and two years of direct experience in human resources facilitation or organizational development with specific skills in training and education, or an associate's degree in one of those fields and two years of the same experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interact diplomatically and tactfully with diverse groups of people, including all levels of employees and leadership.
  • Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and employees across the organization to effectively deliver training, skills development, and leadership coaching.
  • Ability to translate strategy into specific goals, action plans, and deliverables using performance consulting, instructional design, training delivery, organizational design and effectiveness, curriculum design, and change management principles, methods, and tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, learning management systems, and other educational technology applications as required.
  • Ability to use search tools to find relevant information and stay current with industry advances.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to confidently facilitate training for all levels of the organization and hospital.
  • Teamwork, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated success working on multiple projects with changing priorities while delivering effective results.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, cohesive materials and communications branded to align with WVU Medicine.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods, work on a computer, and regularly lift and transport materials or equipment weighing at least 20 pounds, stoop, and push heavy carts.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with hospital leaders to foster employee development and expand organizational capability.
  • Assess, communicate, and deliver on learning needs across the hospital.
  • Implement organization-wide professional development programs and support the local learning strategy.
  • Support leaders, managers, and supervisors in developing their leadership capabilities.
  • Work with hospital leadership across departments to develop content and administer, report, and facilitate training needs.
  • Build relationships, establish credibility and trust with managers, employees, and customers.
  • Differentiate between training needs and other types of performance concerns.
  • Consult with internal customers on learning management needs and structure appropriate components within the learning management system and interfacing systems.
  • Consult with subject matter experts on learning objectives to design and develop effective learning.
  • Serve as the facility learning management system administrator for education and training materials and courses, including live and computer-based learning courses.
  • Facilitate training programs, workshops, and webinars for WVU Medicine employees.
  • Build and test curricula, assignment profiles, and other learning management system architectural components.
  • Administer the mandatory education process, including updating content with subject matter experts, building curricula, and assigning courses.
  • Manage new employee orientation training facilitation, including facility-specific course content development.
  • Ensure Joint Commission requirements for content and attendance for new employees are met.
  • Manage student placements within facilities, including educational agreements with institutions.
  • Develop and manage a content bank of employee educational opportunities for assigned facilities.
  • Design, develop, and customize workshops, job aids, tools, and other development resources to provide staff with human and leadership skills.
  • Design and develop e-learning programs using multimedia and web-authoring tools such as Articulate 360 Suite and Adobe Captivate.
  • Develop instructional materials, coordinate, write, and edit educational content, and incorporate current technology for educators developing curricula.
