Requirements
  • 3D computer-aided design (CAD) design and engineering drawing development.
  • Prior success reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Engineering calculations.
  • Success in environments where communication and organizational skills were crucial to effectiveness.
  • A Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience for the Intermediate Professional level, or at least 3 years of relevant experience for the Advanced Professional level, with an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted for the Advanced Professional level.
  • Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance, successful completion of required background checks, participation in the ARL drug testing program, and compliance with electronic and physical monitoring requirements applicable to federal contractors.
  • U.S. citizenship.
Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed 3D models using computer-aided design software to support engineering design and development activities.
  • Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings for components, assemblies, and complex systems.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analyses and apply appropriate dimensioning, tolerancing, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to develop conceptual designs for complex systems and subsystems.
  • Partner with engineering staff to develop, define, and derive technical requirements supporting the design and development of engineering products.
  • Develop and document assembly, integration, and test procedures to support system development and validation.
  • Assemble, integrate, and test hardware to verify performance and compliance with technical requirements.
  • Support field testing, including test preparation, execution, troubleshooting, and evaluation of system performance.
  • For the higher-level position, work independently on complex assignments, monitor progress, and evaluate results to ensure successful completion of objectives.
  • For the higher-level position, communicate ideas, technical concepts, recommendations, and instructions clearly and persuasively to internal and external audiences.
  • For the higher-level position, develop and apply innovative techniques, concepts, and approaches to address moderately complex strategic and operational challenges.
Desired Qualifications
  • Siemens NX.
  • Current eligibility for access to classified information at the Secret level or higher, with possible government investigation to upgrade clearance eligibility if required.
