  • A bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a closely related field is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of geotechnical engineering experience within professional consulting services is required, including managing client relationships and developing new business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and guide the technical practice, mentor and develop junior staff, and participate in internal and external technical organizations.
  • Manage complex projects and programs with significant business impact independently, exercising judgment to make decisions and develop solutions for successful completion.
  • Provide principal-level technical review of proposals and project deliverables.
  • Manage highly complex multidisciplinary projects and provide technical review and project management support for client projects.
  • Prepare and make decisions for major proposals and contracts.
  • Prepare complex engineering reports containing professional opinions and practical geotechnical solutions.
  • Perform engineering analysis using company and industry methodologies, standards, formulas, and computer software, and make engineering decisions.
  • Interface with federal and state regulatory authorities on complex projects.
  • Develop and deliver client presentations for relationship development and assist with related marketing strategies and activities.
  • Understand and manage client needs through communications and proposal and project work.
  • Oversee client contracting within the unit with support from corporate legal.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external client relationships through project-related and other face-to-face meetings.
  • Explain Braun Intertec services and market them to clients.
  • Coordinate project assignments with engineers and technicians within the discipline group.
  • Review drawings supplied by vendors, clients, engineers, and architects and recommend necessary changes.
  • Review the engineering work of others and technical reports.
  • Identify complex problems and possible solutions and take appropriate action to resolve them.
  • Efficiently and effectively manage project teams, including engineering and field support personnel.
  • Lead, mentor, manage, and develop technical staff.
  • Work within established procedures and protocols while managing and mitigating risk.
  • Represent Braun Intertec internally and externally as a technical leader and resource.
  • Follow safety policies and practices and communicate project safety requirements to all assigned team members.
